Would I notice the difference from 3600 to 3200 gaming.?.?

It would depend on what CL your 3600 RAM is. If it is CL18 then there will be little to no difference but if it is CL16 or lower then there will be a small loss in FPS however, depending on your other hardware, this will likely not be more than 2 or 3% and I doubt that you'd be able to notice in normal gameplay.

However there are only a handful of games that would benefit from more than 16GB RAM so unless you're desperate for RGB or have less than 16GB I don't think it is worth replacing 3600MT RAM with this.

anyone know if it would it be better to have 2x16GB sticks or 4x8GB sticks?

I currently have this RAM but in the 2x8GB config and was looking to top it up with another 2 sticks to fill up all 4 slots on the mobo.

It depends. This is likely faster than 4x8GB as you can potentially run into issues where the memory controller cannot run 4 sticks at the same speeds as 2.

AMD are slightly more open about this limitation than Intel but neither really advertise the fact. If you look at the spec sheet for the 5800x3d - amd.com/en/…x3d - you will see that the maximum memory speed for 2 sticks is DDR4-3200 whereas for 4 sticks it is DDR4-2933 single rank and DDR4-2667 dual rank.

In the real world you might not run into issues with 4 sticks (and for RGB goodness 4 sticks are better than 2) but if you do need 32GB this is, in my opinion, the better option. (edited)
