I bought the G Skill Ripjaws on a deal from here the other week: amazon.co.uk/dp/…ils

If I'm going for an AMD build, is it still better to limit myself to the 6000Mhz of the ripjaws given the previous issues people have had?

looking at online benchmarks, its the latency that has a bigger effect than frequency. The Ripjaws seem like the perfect combo at the moment and 6000mhz cl30 is a real sweet spot. These probably could down clock to 6000 and tighten the timings to match the cl30 but its playing around where as the ripjaws are 'stock' (edited)

I bought the corsair 6000 cl36. Is that better or worse than this? Now a new spanner in the works return the 6000 and buy the 6400 or the Ripjaw. Buying ram used to be easy. (edited)

Going for ryzen 7700x, 7900x, 7900 or summin. Should I go for this or wait for a 6000mhz deal at cl30 (edited)

I am currently awaiting and deciding to build a new amd set up with either the 7800x3d and 7950x3d. My issue is if i bought this 6400 CL32. Is it easy to lower the frequency and timings to 6000 and 30CL. I am mainly an intel user so unsure whether to buy this or buy 7200 CL34 (edited)

I would say so - means when u upgrade to another am5 cpu with a more robust mem controller, u can enjoy the 6400CL32

What's best 4x16gb or 2x32gb in Intel LGA 1700 Z790 build? Any issues?

With my little experience with overclocking ram 2 sticks is much easier to tune

    Would this be compatible on a 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900F processor (16-Core, 30MB Cache, 2.4GHz to 5GHz)?

    I have 2x16 GB DDR5 RAM at 4800Mhz.

I'm not able to overclock on my CPU so is the extra speed worth it? (edited)

It would be compatible, yes. As for whether it'll just boot first time no problems with XMP, it SHOULD do (especially if you update to the latest BIOS for your board), even though the 12th gen memory controller is a little sketchy. However, with only two sticks it shouldn't be an issue. I wouldn't try four though.

As for whether it's worth the outlay, it really depends on the games you play and the GPU you have. If you're running a 3060 or something, you're unlikely to ever see any benefit. It mainly helps when you're CPU-bound with a really fast GPU.
