sorted byNot a big deal to most I’m sure but for me going on long runs with my phone in a backpack, I found the recording accuracy useless because of this - huge variance in recorded pace, making it impossible to pace yourself. Shame as it works pretty well when it’s just the watch.
I also discovered this when using it to record a day skiing, thinking it would save my phone battery, but instead it drained the phone and saved the watch battery! I believe it’s the total opposite on the new models - it will only use the watch, never the phone. Probably better in most cases but no idea why they can’t make it a toggle.
Sent mine back as I mainly wanted it for running to be honest, and got a boring but functional Garmim instead!
