sorted byHad a Hisense A9G before which has the same panel of the C1. It's not even close, this is miles better.
Speakers are just okay, plenty loud but not full sounding, and bass is non existent.
Had to get a soundbar and sub. (edited)
Look at reviews of the LZ980B. This is fairly close to that with added brightness, as it has a heatsink and a better panel. Not even a C2 has a heatsink! (edited)
It will compare to TVs like the LG C2 or Philips OLED707/807 but will be a step below TVs like the Samsung S95B and Sony A95K.
Also the LZ1000 is not “just as same” as last years JZ1000 since the JZ1000 didn’t have a Heatsink in the panel whilst this LZ1000 does.
This does get brighter, and I prefer Pansonic's colour tuning. A bit more natural, especially out of the box. The heatsink in this will also help prevent potential image retention or burn in. I've heard, but don't quote me on this, the A80K has an older panel, the same as the A80J, just with a beefier chipset with more processing features. Still looks great mind.
This has a swivel stand, not sure any other OLED's do? I quite like it, and it's surprisingly easy to manoeuvre. Sony's is quite clever with the different feet positions. All personal preference though really.
Motion is better on the Sony, but Panasonic is second to it, better than Samsung and LG. Not a huge amount in it.
Sound is also better on the Sony, class leading in fact, but that didn't hold much value to my decision to or for it.
Given that the Sony is more money, and this looks better (in my opinion), I think this is a solid buy.
Also, how much does this one normally cost? (edited)
Augment with a pair of Dali Spektor 2's, Spektor/Zensor centre and a Marantz 5015. You've got yourself a very capable and expandable home theatre set-up
and the menus etc, all look quite simple compared to other TV manufacturers.
but it's a plus imo as you can navigate very fast.
all the apps I use on the TV, work fast aswell.
(and I'm guessing my processer is slower than this one) as it's a few years old.
yeah you can rewind TV etc, on alot of TVs. but generally speaking you need to connect a harddrive of some form.
It is the entry level model
Edit: Entry LZ800 then LZ980. (edited)
For £1000 your looking at the 55" stuff for OLEDs.
Author has mentioned this has 2 Full HDMI 2.1 ports, while the LG C2 has 4, but they only really matters for the 4k 120. As this has a heatskink this is the better choice. As the G2 is the only LG model with a heat sink for the higher peak brightness.
If your feeling enthusiastic, the upcoming G3s get even brighter but they cost a good bit more and your gonna have to wait 8/12 months to come down to this process for the 55 (I think).
Thanks (edited)
Thanks OP and everyone else for answering my questions. (edited)
Hope all goes well think you made a good choice
If only I had the money 💰🤑
Looks like an absolute beast of a television.
Also how does it look when the room is bright (daylight, lights on)? (edited)
So it has both teams. (LG v Samsung)
(assuming the g2 comes back on offer around £1600... Is it worth the extra £200. Or this still wins?)

Android TV was great until they added adverts, Google TV which replaces it is an adfest, same goes for Amazon FireOS which is actually what Google TV aimed for. Tizen (Samsung) has adverts, I believe WebOS (LG) is clean though? The proprietary OS's based on Opera are OK but app support for new apps like you have alluded to is their downside.
Surprisingly decent build quality and the swivel stand is sturdier than it looks and feels -- the whole unit has taken a bit of a pounding on occasion from my 2 year old and doesn't show any ill-effects. Yet.
Edited to add: I've got the TV placed in a reasonably bright part of my house, and the brightness holds up quite nicely in the daytime, even when up against my large east-facing windows. (edited)
Also can the swivel stand height be adjusted to fit a sound bar?
Thanks.
