Don't get this, get the ryzen version from John Lewis, with the 15% code it comes down to £849, and you get twice the ram, and a 3 year guarantee upgraded from the usual john lewis 2 year guarantee. I have found John Lewis's service to be good when needed. The cpu in this machine is decent mind you and definetely better than the ryzen 5 6600h, but depends on the games, and, realistically speaking, you'd need an extra 8gb these days.

That is also a good deal but for future proofing the intel would be better option for the same price as you know cpu gpu can not be upgraded but ram easily can

What's the battery life on this model for those who mostly browse, watch YouTube, stream etc? The description claims one thing but real time use people are reporting much less hours.

I have a very similar model but it has been upgraded (32gb ram, 1tb + 500 gb ssds) That I got off ebay last year for 700 quid :D- it has the ryzen 5800h instead of intel though. If I put it into 'quiet' mode so it's using on board graphics etc browsing youtube, streams, etc I still get 5-6 hours (battery is 93% of new now)..not great but hope that helps!

Is this reasonably light? I love my current laptop, but it's much too heavy, and the charger is gigantic. Just needing something I can use for both uni and work

weighs around 2.5kg, with the power brick 3.4kg. You can charge it with usb c charge and save carrying the power brick around for medium/high demanding tasks If it's work and light gaming you might consider a workstation laptop with rtx 3050+ will weigh slightly lighter and power efficient but mid tier gaming laptop will have some weight to it unless your willing to pay for the extra for premium models.

8 GB. Those days are long gone. All gaming laptop should have a minimum of 16GB and with a RTX3060 should be at £700 price point now it`s old. (edited)

8gb models usually more affordable and you can easily add the extra ram your self.

The 16gb 2022 versions have a higher price tag £1000+

We seen the 2021 legion 5 around £700 only 2/3 times and yet to see last years models even close to those price but hope we do (edited)

Really racking my brains over should I wait or pay the extra for a rtx 3070 over buying a 3060. The choices...ahhhh, I will also add extra ram myself afterwards.
