£160.78 per pair (fitted) for premium tyres is great. Having checked all online tyre fitters and their offers and prices hover around £100+ per tyre. The deal expires on 16 April.

I haven't checked other sizes, nor other branches, the price was valid for online buy with delivery and fitting and Edinburgh warehouse.

Great tyres had the 18" version on my Tyre R couple of years ago, they came with them from the factory

Looks like the Michelin offer is back on from Monday at Costco

Excellent deal that. Wish we could get it in the North of Ireland.

I don't recommend tyres from Costco as they are difficult to deal with and fit only in accordance with their own crap policy and not what the vehicle manufacturer recommends.

    Any factual example?

    Goodyear 225/45 R17 Y (94) EAGLE F1 (ASYMMETRIC 5) XL

Arguably the better tyre and for a around £12 more for the pair fitted it's what I would choose.

Had Potenza's on a MX5 (Mazda's OEM tyre), 215's not 225's, and they were (just) ok in the dry but horrendous in the wet and the rear would easily lose traction.
It only really felt confident if I had a lot of weight over the rear axle.

Ended up swapping for Goodyear Asymmetric 5's which seem to be better in every way.

Can't argue at the price though and may suit a FWD car better. (edited)

Well the price isn’t that special when you can get the Goodyears for less than 10 quid extra each.. (edited)

Costco seem to rotate their offers on tyres every 3 weeks, when the new offers pamphlet comes out, with £40 off a pair or £80 off all 4 tyres (17/18"), rotating between Goodyear, Michelin and Bridgestone. Just wait until Goodyear or Michelin come round on offer again.

I got Michelin PS4 225/40 R18 at £83 each about 6 months ago, when the Michelin offer was on.

Yep. They had Michelin offer in March and I missed it by a day.

    Is fuel grade D good?
    monkeyhanger75's avatar
    monkeyhanger75
Nope, but to be fair, the difference between A and E rating isn't huge. For a D fuel rating, you'd expect these to be gripper than they are

I had four Goodyears fitted at Costco in Feb 2021. I’ve not driven a massive number of miles since - circa 7500 in the two years - but at the end of March I had an MOT and received a minor advisory over cracking in the tread. Costco advise they’ll need to send the tyres back to Goodyear for any warranty claim - which of course means I’ll need to buy four new tyres at Costco or elsewhere meantime. Not ideal.

That’s weird actually, but it may be due to manufacturer indeed. Is your car 4wd so you need to change all four?

My friend has a membership - will they need to go with me to get the tyres fitted?

So what happened was they stopped me at the entrance to the store because the photo didn't look like me, then I explained the situation, and they escorted me to the tyres desk so I couldn't access the shopping area.
