Firstly, what students can afford this, even at discount price!?
Secondly, this wouldn't last a week in a student house.

Not all students are broke, or even struggling. Some are from quite well off families. There's also mature students, not all students are fresh out of college. People go into higher education at any age to help a career change or just self improvement. And finally not all students live with other students.

I think if you are serious about using robots to clean you need a self-emptying version. I got the Roborock S5 Max which was great but having to empty it was a pain. I now have Dreame D10 which is as good as the Roborock and will self-empty. I think I paid £329 on special offer.

Having said all of that the Samsung appears to be a good performer as long as you have 50% or less carpeting. £250 is pretty cheap for a premium device.

Just to say decided to buy myself the Dreame D10 after reading this comment. Still at £329 from Amazon, so easy to return if it doesn't behave itself! Where have you installed the cleaning base? I need to find a slot in the front room but any experience greatly appreciated! Also does it need new bags in the base station, any compatible cheap versions? TIA

Got this first ever robot vacuum cleaner, tested for 2 days, and did a great job. The floor mapping is a bit fiddly at first, but able to map it all out once I got the hang of it. The only gripe I have is when I try to edit the rooms on the app. Have to combine and re-divide again, and it doesn't allow dividing small rooms.

I'm not sure if registering the device on my profile is enough to qualify for 5 year warranty so I went ahead and register here as well:

Hi Alex. How do you find cleaning edges and carpets? Does it bump into edges and objects frequently?

The clean station is not for the jet bot. It doesn't make it obvious but credit to whoever corrected me before (when I find their name I'll add it here).

I like the sound of it “grinding up” hair so it doesn’t get stuck on the brush, and the brush being driven into the carpet for a deep clean. I have the 360 s8 and the brush constantly gets clogged with my daughter’s hair and it absolutely will not pick up sock fluff from the carpet, perhaps this one will…

I was hoping for a roborock s7 to come down in price but it never seems to… which seems to have one of the better mopping systems.

Might look at this for upstairs which is mostly carpet.

Do these go right to the edge of the skirting boards?

Are these any good? Had a Miele Scout a few years ago and it would just get stuck and not really do much. I'm now in a more open plan flat with hard floors and would like this for the kitchen/dining/living area, but unsure if it's worth it. I have the Samsung cordless stick vacuum and have been impressed, so wondering if this is worth a go.

I have a cheaper model with wooden floors and its great. Bought it as a present for my wife and at first was in the dog house... a couple of weeks later she told me its the best present I have ever given her.

Is this actually any good? Bad experiences in the past have put me off these but now with kids I think it might be useful even if suction is weak, provided it picks up most crumbs.

Reviews online seem decent but I wonder how many are sponsored reviews 👀

It would be handy if Samsung offered the cleaning station separately, so users who purchased the standalone bot had the option to upgrade it at a later date if they felt regular manual emptying was frustrating.

I've read and watched a lot of reviews on this model, and they are generally quite favourable. Excellent on hard floors for the price point, average on carpets, fairing better on shorter pile carpets. I'm personally still undecided between this and the Deebot T9. Not particularly fussed either way about a built in mop. (edited)

I recently got the t9. Absolutely love it , but would have gone for this one if it had mopping, because of the 5 year warranty.

I don't think Samsung allow trade in for this method of purchase?

    Anyone?
    theshabster's avatar
    theshabster
They do, but only on selected lines. This one is not included as it's already heavily discounted. Just Samsung's way of playing with figures offering trade-ins
  24. theshabster's avatar
    theshabster
Annoys me that the EPP and other Samsung discount portals don't offer the 100 day trial period like you get from the regular store. Sometimes products are cheaper on their regular store with a trade in, and you still get the trial in these instances.
