We have a couple of cats. It copes well although I also have 2 daughters and a wife with long hair. so I do have to cut the long air off the brush head attachment every so often. Stairs wise i don't find it a problem. the hose it pretty long obviously some balancing or holding of the vacuum part of the stairs is needed when you get to the middle. The cable retrieval system did break a couple of years back but in hasn't matter for us too much. I save money on the bags by buying the 3rd party ones from amazon which are considerably cheaper

Ordered. Have been looking for a turbo head cleaner for a while. Hope it lives up to the promised 10 so years. Out of city and getting delivered sometime tommorow via ParcelFoce. Not sure what they will do if they don't find me there...

I have this hoover and I love it on hard floors (tiles and wooden) but I find it hard work on carpet anyone else think the same? I find the Dyson easier on my carpets by far

No clue why they got one then! They do have a cat there but it never goes in much places, so it’s not needed.

If this is anything like my gardenline one, you'll need a set of ear defenders when using it. 3000W motor sounds like a 747.

How does this compare to the same priced powervac 3000 by flymo ? Which is better for leaf collecting ?

To preempt the question "does the LIDAR make all that much difference?" yes. Yes it does. In a complex room it can halve the time required to clean your floor while also giving better coverage as everywhere will be covered exactly once. Ping pong ball navigation means easy to reach bits like the centre of the floor will always be vacuumed more than the edges. Some of the edges might not even be reached. As for why halving the time matters, remember these are battery powered vacuums and the more you use the battery the faster it degrades. It's easily one of the most expensive parts on the unit to replace once degraded. The battery in the LIDAR model will last longer before needing replacement.

You shouldn't buy should buy the Xiaomi V1 robot vacuum with the LIDAR sensor. Eh...that might not have been that helpful! :p

Thanks, i've expired that one as the code has expired :)

In that case, this has been posted before, on the 9th June.

Because they break. We bought the Eufy and it's brilliant! But it's developed a fault and Amazon refunded and waiting to buy again. So only but if your happy it's never going to break.

The 9.6v can be found for £2

Sadly we found the battery life is dire on this. We bought it for the caravan but it barely lasts enough to have a quick Hoover about. Maybe it's just ours? I'd probably buy an Aldi one currently available for half the price and 3years warranty.

Not the cheapest its been from them. Bought mine in February this year for £25 on a half price offer. Takes 16 hours to charge for about 30 minutes of use.

Just ordered thanks. Happy to pay this price for drying the car. So won't use the bag or wheels!

Is this one any good? Really need one to blow or suck dried leaves off of gravel and grass. Thanks!

Listen to me then... before you sweep make the floor wet.. then sweep. Old trick. Use it wisely haha

Using any kind of device that sucks or blows will make the situation much worse if you have problems with a sweeping brush. Sweep slowly and edge the dust outside the door before you try to lift it onto a pan etc. Or perhaps get a garden sprayer and dampen down the dust on the floor before you sweep it. Or use a lot of tarps to catch the dust and then fold and take outside when you want to clean.

I think you're after a shop vac mate

Over the years if I learnt something about vacuum cleaner then it's either buy bagged one or dyson. I know there's lot of dyson haters out there but come on you really want to spend all day cleaning them stupid filters out? I would much rather pay extra and have something which actually works throughout its life and no clogged filters.

I received mine a couple of days ago and am really well pleased. It lifts the pile on the rug much better than I had anticipated and the tiled and wooden floors are a breeze. For the money paid, this product is great value! Thanks again OP

Mine arrived Brilliant and for the price an absolute bargain

I ordered it and received it the other day, I thought it was great with very powerful suction, I found it better than my friends Bosch cordless vacuum which was nearly £300, only downside so far is the dust/dirt catcher is small so I did need to empty it a few times, but other than that, for 30 quid It's a total bargain.

the reviews arent great on amazon or elsewhere .. appears to have poor side suction ( i dont know what they are comparing it with though) and it gets clogged easily (gets over full) - but that might be due to using it like a main vac rather than a secondary quick clean up for which it is designed. the only other product around the price is the swan (two versions one like this and another that can be folded down to be used as a kind of handheld - at least that what it appears to be) being sold by very for £39 - only reviews on their site & they give it a good rating. are the reviews reliable who knows.

Here are the reviews on Amazon for anyone who’s interested (y)

I have heard that the power output of the motor in the Gtech mk2 is only 100 watts. Is that true? Seems very low compared to other cordless vacuums.

Air Ram MK 2

No only reserved. I never pre-pay at Argos. Their returns process is horrible too imho. Thanks for the info.

Which G-tech model?

Yes, Which said this vac loses suction in normal use. I'd quickly tire of emptying every few minutes just so it can pick-up like a corded vac. Hopefully some reliable company will produce a cordless that does its job well for at least 30 mins AND allows me to keep the arm + a leg that current "market leaders" want for a miserable ten minute run XD . Re: cancelling Argos order, perhaps call them for a refund to your card if you've pre-paid (0800 085 0565 is the # I've used in the recent past). If not pre-paid, item simply goes back into stock if not collected by the end of the last day of booked collection. Best wishes.

Yep, I've bought a few things from Dyson refurb and other official manufacturer refurb stores i.e. Panasonic and Fuji and they've all been excellent. Not worth the hassle to save an extra tenner.

when the last 20% off ebay was avaialble (I think in feb/march time?) I bought a V6 refurb off someone because it was £10 cheaper than the Dyson outlet- admittedly not the same person that is selling the V7's but it arrived in a hell of a state, the hoover was busted and dented and they didnt even send the dock - I complained and the guy said as long as its been refurbished to a working standard then nothing else matters. Thankfully I managed to send it back and get a full refund and then buy one from Dyson still at the 20% off price. My advice with these things, if youre going for a refurb do it through the dyson outlet, the one I got from them was new - perfect condition and had been great ever since. Defo going to invest in a bigger model but ill wait for the next 20% off :)

I guess its a good deal as it stands now. Though i was one of the lucky ones who used the Ebay US 20% off the other day so got it for £143 i think it was :)

Yeah, does look odd. Their past feedback was over 6 months ago for normal stuff and now they have over 30 of these available. Could be a hijacked account.

Quite happy with the V6 version I got of this from Tesco on a deal I saw on here. Don't expect them to perform the same as corded ones though. Our house seems to manage between this and a Henry, this is good for picking up spills and light vacuuming, for a proper clean we use the Henry as it is much more powerful.

Only seems to be sold on Very and sister site Littlewoods, no reviews online except for on those sites, do they let bad reviews through? I personally doubt you can get a good cordless vac for that price, some half-decent corded ones at that price now although I doubt they will last that long.

How long was your initial warranty period for?

Have they refused to replace it under warranty ? Ours failed at the 5 yr stage and they replaced it without a quibble

I have a vax upright about 3 years old. The belt has broken countless times.. I can safely say 6 times AT LEAST. Also the vacuum now just turns off after 5 mins of use. Never buying VAX again.

Not that it’s relevant specifically to this, but Incase there are any sitting on the fence... I used to be a Dyson snob. Then one day it packed up, it owed us nothing so wasn’t too fussed. However, the cost of a new Dyson was ridiculous, we’d just had our first child so we needed a decent but cheap replacement. Enter the Vax... We paid £70 for it, there was a promo at the time which meant we registered and got a 7 year warranty. The build quality isn’t quite as good as the Dyson, but it outperforms the Dyson hand over fist. So, heat added OP, great price! And anyone on the fence who is a bit of a Dyson snob like I was, hope that’s helpful! (excited) :D

70dB noise level is a Passenger car at 65 mph at 25 ft (77 dB); freeway at 50 ft from pavement edge 10 a.m. (76 dB). Living room music (76 dB); radio or TV-audio, and now a super silent vacuum cleaner (70dB)

This is great if you're deaf hopefully not dumb !

Says Triple A performance but in reality it is only class C for carpet cleaning.. So two lies in the description (its not silent and its not A rated on performance ) Oh, and its NOT bagless , i don't know why that was added to the description.

Probably qc by a partial deaf

If it's 70dB, how is it also able to be silent??

BLACK+DECKER 18 V Lithium-Ion Flexi Vacuum [Energy Class A]

I've got one of these and it's great for the car and I often use it for a quick carpet clean around the skirting boards at home too. Maybe the other poster had a duff one

I bought this model (18v lithium) a few years ago and found it totally useless for the car, let alone for quick jobs round thr house (thought it would have been better for £80 and had some good reviews. I tried it several times with checking I had no blockages etc with no luck. Not sure if I had a dodgy one, but was not impressed. I know it's a lot more money, but got the Dyson V8 with all the attachments recently and love it. I would save a little more for the Dyson to use for the car and around the house as I felt this a waste of money.

I paid £44 on Amazon warehouse promotion last year, it's a good vacuum but I would pay more than what we paid

Great machine for cleaning the car and around the house. Very good reviews and doesn't seem to get this low priced very often
