Get a Shark (y)

I thinking last days about any Shark specially animal version need for dog hair (annoyed)

Purchased this particlar model when it first came out. Build quality is very poor with the plactic prone to wear easily. It does however have very good suction. I'm on my second replacement du to the upright arm part breaking away at the plastic joint. I would not recomment this model at full price due to the issues I've expereinced with durability but it may be worth a shot if you are a light user at the above price.

I bought a refurb from dyson a couple of years ago and I would have sworn it was a new machine, would agree that they don’t feel as solid as the older ones. But they’re lighter, easier to store and it seems to function a lot better but it could be that my old one was very worn out. Great price for this

Morphy Richards 18v Cordless 2in1 Supervac Pro 734035 vacuum cleaner 2 year guarantee £35.99 delivered w/code @ eBay sold by Argos

Oos now

For £36 it's worth a try. Heat added and bought

Unless you are planning to just hoover up very light dust, this will be a wasted purchase. At 18v power, it'll struggle with anything larger than a grain of sand. We have a 22v vax cordless and it struggles to pick up anything - I don't even bother using it now as it's too frustrating

Just bought thanks saves carrying the electric one upstairs

I made the mistake of buying a cordless Vax vacuum from Argos (not Argos fault the vacuum is crap) and a toothless granny has more suction power. It is absolutely and entirely useless as a vacuum cleaner. I would give it away but I'd have to hate the person I gave it to. Anything has to be better than the Vax I have, so if this isn't then it's terrible.

Dyson V8 Animal Cordless Vacuum Cleaner - Refurbished - 1 Year Guarantee using eBay code at Dyson Outlet Ebay £242.99
Found 7 h, 7 m agoFound 7 h, 7 m ago
Dyson V8 cord-free machines don’t just clean floors. They quickly transform between stick and handheld mode to clean high, low and everywhere in between.

I think it's the Total Clean I have and comes with the most attachments (it's the one with the purple pole not in the photos above). Also I think the Total Clean is one of the only ones with the HEPA filter?

Taking about a month ago, as you can see the price was £10 cheaper or £20 on some

I cannot see it anywhere on ebay even on completed/sold items (skeptical)

Anyone had any experience of using the Vax Blade 2 Max and V8? How did they compare.

Had the V6 and tipping out the dirt is not like they demonstrate in the ads. Had to use a chopstick to get the fluff to come out, it never just falls into a bin. The V7 corrects this as the container now pushes out the dirt into your bin and even shakes out more dirt when pushed back in. Much cleaner.

Got this for £180 on Black Friday from Curry's - wasn't sure about purchase but all this positivity along with deal getting heat has reassured me - thank you.

I agree HottyHotty, not relevant from the original poster.

That's true, but the misprice was down to them marking the V7 Animal down to the same price as the V6 Animal. THe V6 Animal was also at that price, which was a valid Black Friday Deal and cheaper than the £199 stated above.

I have this cleaner and it is excellent. Tried lots of others costing significantly more that weren’t all that, but this one great. Have bought one for my daughter, thanks for posting :)

My experience was very disapointing... Very poor suction in about 3 months. 5 bags costs approx £6 and most of them do not fit too small and some too big. Binned it. Having said that the first few days it is superpowerful it could even lift the carpet but not for long ;)

I am using one of them and it’s brilliant. Before I had a bag less one from leading company and it was rubbish.

Heat for not using the name 'Hoover'... (lol)

How much warranty did you get? I believe this one comes with a year :) I can add that to the deal if its worth mentioning?

Don't buy! I bought this last time it was on offer and it is rubbish gave it to the local charity shop in the end.

Bought last time when in offer for £15. Terrible battery, wont even hold the charge to do front and back of a car. Also there is no battery indicator light to show when fully charge, just a red light how long you charge for. I won’t recommend this

Always remember growing up with a Henry Hoover. I'd always thought my parents must've skimped out on it cause i thought it was more novelty than anything. Fast forward to me owning my own home. I was genuinely shocked how expensive these things are (excited) (shock)

Great feedback on these machines, thanks Nickofh :)

UK Built quality item. Our first Hetty is 8 years old. 4 years in our 3 dog house ,then 4 years ago it moved to our dog grooming salon where it's still in daily use. The Dyson , Vax and Electrolux didn't last 6 months each at work. So a second Henry now lives at home. Great machines.

If you are lucky enough to get one of these @ £75.00 you got yourself a proper bargain laura7piano, always worth sharing at this price too. :)

I meant to enquire if Morphy Richards is still a UK owned company? Or, as I suspect, just a resurrected UK manufacturing brand name, now sold for the purposes of enabling offshore manufacturers of poor/average quality products a chance of tapping into a sense of national nostalgia with the net effect of selling items at higher prices than would have been achievable without the assistance of the brand name?

Unsure where Morphy Richards do their manufacturing. Most manufacturing has gone out of the UK long time ago.... some Nike stuff is manufactured in China from a long time, iphone is manufactured in China etc , but as long as quality control is good we will be fine regardless of who and where it has been made.

Do Morphy Richards still make their stuff in the UK? Or have they also sold off the brand so that cheap crud made in a sweatshop can be stamped with a brand to lend it some credibility?

Goblin is owned by same company who makes Morphy Richards.

These vacuums gobble up the dust. Goblin - talk about a name from the past. They used to be a good domestic goods brand before UK manufacturing jacked it all in. Now the name's been most probably sold to some Chinese consortium to manufacturer tat for sale in the UK.

I'm glad you appreciate the feedback, it's really not a bad machine, just not a bargain given the normal prices. Hopefully you'll be very happy with your purchase though. In terms of comparing this model from Argos and the Curry's one, I was only really considering the base unit itself and you are right there are subtle differences. The usual tweaks between models are colours, hose length, power cord length and the tools. There's not much scope to change the power cord as there's limited space in the machine to store it and changing the hose can effect performance so there's not likely to be much difference there either, however these are the things to look out for. Specifically on the tool front, you are quite right that this model seems to have three separate tools for upholstery, crevices and dusting (they may not actually be separate tools, but probably are). However the Curry's model actually has a three-in-one tool with all of these. This three-in-one tool is cheaper but on the other hand is less to store (or lose!) than three separate tools. Most importantly, the floorhead in both is exactly the same, this is critical to the carpet and hard floor performance, so is actually exactly the same on almost every Vax model. It's also the only tool they spent any money designing, not withstanding the tool set you mention. On the subject of which, with the three-in-one tool included you obviously do not have to buy that to make the Curry's model comparable (and £34 is at least £20 more than anyone should be spending on that!). In short, there's really not much to choose between the two machines, and I'd encourage anyone buying either to compare the details of the specifications before making a choice. However this is about the right price and with £3 difference you may as well choose on colour (as many people probably will).

Thank you for this balanced comment also the link. It is worth noting that the model you provide the link to has a separate attachment bundle for £34.99 ( 8 piece ) whereas, the Model above has: Crevice nozzle, upholstery nozzle, dusting brush, combination floor nozzle. included in the total price. :)

For you anything Zany. (angel) <3 <3

This vacuum has been in the Vax range for about seven or eight years. Although it did have a fairly major overhaul in 2013 when the EU legislation required the motor, filters and other bits be changed. Every year or two they change the name and colour scheme - more often if the bad reviews mount up. That said this is usually one of the better performing and reviewed vacuums, which is why it's been around so long. However it is regularly sold at around the £50-£60 mark and is generally only listed at a higher price so that it looks like a bargain when reduced (standard practice for the full Vax range). Currently available in a slightly different guise from Curry's for £59.99 -

thank you chucu, as per the title and description also. :) Appreciate your comment.

The Miele is very good. I am very happy with mine but it is now over 20 years old and not the quiet model, replacing it with this will be perfect.

A relative has had a miele for decades! Swears by it, but i wonder how good a bag vac is these days

That's the Wife's Xmas present sorted.... ;) hot!

You need to be careful with this kind of product page. There are only 19 reviews for this model the other 99 and top reviews are for the 900W Cat and Dog Powerline. This is the review filter for this model I'm not so sure having read those. vs the Henry it's kg's lighter, quieter, 2m longer flex. Will sit on the step of stairs with the tools in it no need to go back to the cupboard for them, but it is longer.
