I am not so sure what’s the point of this… it’s the same as Save and subscribe by looking at the products that are eligible.

The point being that you don't have to subscribe to get the discount? Presumably it's to encourage people to try some of the products in the hope they'll subscribe properly in the future.
I checked four products and all had gone up in price by around 10%. The address labels are almost *double* the price they were three weeks ago. The selection of products which qualify for this offer is also pretty feeble.
Amazon is driving their store into the ground and expecting people to use them as if they still had the same top reputation from years ago. I still use Amazon a lot but I don't buy anything without checking the price history because they have famously unreliable prices... so why would I sign up to buy something automatically? They're spent years training me *not* to do that.
