Are these good and long lasting?

Definitely. You will find people who have bosch have them for extremely long periods without any issue. Everyone I know anyway including relatives /parents etc (edited)

Check the number if programmes you can wash 10kg. It is one or two only. I have a Bosch but the 10 kg thing is a con

Starting to look for a new washing machine now. My 20 year old Bosch Classixx has just given up the ghost! Must be a record......

Got one of these and its crap...what a massive disappointment it is. It about shakes itself to pieces whenever you spin even a vaguely heavy load. Had a Bosch engineer out and he said its normal!

Only 2 year warranty as far as I can tell?

Far superior purchase to Hisense! A great price for a machine that will last!

bought an LG 24 hours ago

up at 749 at marks electrical. Used their 10% SAVE10 code, paid on my amex that had 10% off, plus LG offering £75 cashback on that model. Bought it in at £531, but with 5 year warranty, plus more features (autodose etc)

LG warranty is worthless. Search some of the threads here but they never complete any repairs. Never have even common parts on the vans so presumably little intention of doing so.

My Maxx machine from JL was made in Spain I think. Are any of the machines made in Germany anymore and if not, has the quality dropped?

I was told years ago to avoid the Spanish made ones. Apparently the Series 8 are still made in Germany but are much deeper machines so may well not fit under your worktop for example.

I have this exact same model for around 6 months. Paid a bit less than this but it’s been good. Quiet and has more than enough preset settings

Good price for a Bosch, but it does have a disappointing energy rating (C) for the price. I went for a deal on a higher-end LG, which came out to just £424 and it has an A rating (along with lots of bells and whistles). I posted it today, but you need to be around Bradford/Manchester to have it delivered - if you do though, I doubt you can beat it as a deal, I've been watching for quite a while for something similar until it came up
