The description first says rating of A, then rating of D...

The description says it has a wash efficiency rating of A, that's how well it washes.

The energy usage rating is D, the label says it uses 69kwh (or units if you prefer) to do a total of 100 complete washes. I would use the kwh per wash to work out how roughly much extra one costs to run a year than another for my usage. If it is going to take more than 5 years for a more efficient machine to pay for the extra running cost, I probably wouldn't pay extra if a better energy rating was the only advantage. (edited)

Personally I would get the next model up (or one after?). The "computer" on it is far superior. Yes it's more expensive but for something you will keep for about 8 years, it's worth it in my opinion. I've used both types and this one is the more advanced one:

Where as the cheap one feels straight out of the 90s:

    This is great advice!

As someone lumbered with a cheap, noisy machine (Hoover, looks most like the second image but in black), I'd always advise anyone to NEVER go too cheap but mid-range (if someone can), as the cost of living is crazy nowadays) as it's a false economy and I'm stuck with rubbish until it breaks down.

    I learnt the hard way.

I paid £313 a month ago for this machine because it was the cheapest name brand I could find but this is a great price (edited)

I'd prefer a 10kg as I have huge 'God knows what togs' duvets

It's D rated not very good for that price and the size is small for that price

The ratings have long changed. A "D" rating is more like the old A+.
