    Duo plugs require a 6mm hole… (the standard size ones).

    5.5mm on hammer setting usually works out to 6mm and perfect for red plugs or Fischer duo.
    Using a 6mm on hammer can often make the hole too wide and plugs don’t bite well

    Odd occasion it is still a bit tight with 5.5 then 6mm bit no hammer setting and your are gold.

    Well, this is a new one on me. No delivery to NI I'm used to refusal of garden stuff because of chemicals but have never seen the refusal of drill bits. What's the safety with flying those over??

    Use the smooth red plugs with the 5.5 . It’s all I use . Never any other plug unless it’s plasterboard
