Thanks OP. I already own one. These Aldi deals are store specific, down to the managers discretion. If you are going to Aldis well worth a look as they have other Ferris tools reduced to.
But check the battery needed as they stock two different systems, and not everything works with their battery type, though active energy batteries seem to be the most used. (edited)

Seen this a couple of times, but I remember looking at the price for the battery and charger and realising it was not worth it

If you already have the batteries, or there was a deal with batteries + charger, then it might be a good idea. But if you don't, honestly, even though it's more expensive, better to invest in Dewalt or Makita, where you can get a big variety of tools easily with the same batteries.

So I have a lot of DeWalt tools for my job but I managed to get this impact driver and a multitool for just under £10 each. A 5ah battery was £26.99 and charger for £16.99. Even though they aren't branded and probably not quite as robust as my DeWalt gear, it will be ok for my 19yr old grandson who wants to build a reasonable DIY kit

Are other battery brands compatible with Ferrex tools? Can't seem to find any active energy batteries in the shop or online.

For anyone in Glasgow the milngavie Aldi was selling the chargers for £4.95 as you go in the door (weirdly they seemed full price in middle aisle unless they forgot to change labels). Had around 20 left yesterday morning
