I'm assuming that this device detects the beam from the laser when the lighting in the room or outside is to bright to see it, and therefore beeps when the laser is accurately on your mark or working height ?
If so, this still does not help in seeing the laser line so is pointless. Hope I'm wrong.
Detectors enable you to mark the level at greater distances, you can't see the line but you can mark the level in multiple places and draw your own line from marked point to point.
