    I think I will try the free EE data on my Nokia Asha 205 (2G+WiFi) which has a life-long sim card with 100mb per month auto-renewed see if it works.

    I also have this EE sim - free 100MB data every month. Can't remember when I got it, must be about 7 years ago. Don't know anything about this Nokia Asha 205, I probably got this sim for free from EE. Watching the Coronation using this sim atm as free unlimited data is available on it.

    It'll be interesting to see how well the EE network copes with the additional load over the weekend. I can see this being hammered unless they cap/traffic shape/prioritise (edited)

    You can't do 1TB in 2 days.
    EE Pay As You Go is now capped at 25 Mb/s for new customers.

    Even if you started at midnight when the free data offer started, you wouldn't have a fast enough connection to manage this.

    Free data will start at 00:01 on Saturday 6 May 2023 and run until midnight on Sunday 7 May 2023. What I can see no limit or cap, just their free usage policy which is unlimited for personal use. (edited)

    Yeah because VMO2 Really have the spare bandwidth capacity to be giving all of their customers free unlimited data…

    Even at the best of times the o2 network is struggling to function.

    If any other network was likely to follow I suspect Vodafone. I haven’t heard anything to suggest it will happen, but they’ve been known to throw unlimited data bundles in the VeryMe rewards app during special occasions previously.

    No cap from what I’ve read. I’d go for it and see what you can do. Then on the end of Sunday post how much you managed to use. If you get over 10TB I’ll be impressed!
