Reduced from £1449. I love Giant, I have a similar bike, it absolutely flies up hills. It's called an 'all rounder' bike.

2x10 Shimano Tiagra road gears.

Details:

Some roads are smooth, others are rough.

This smooth-riding all-rounder handles it all, taking you from the main route to more adventurous options with confidence and control.

Features:

Balanced road geometry - Frame is specifically engineered to produce a balanced, all-rounder feel that blends confident rider positioning with agile cornering and acceleration.
Smooth ride quality - Innovative D-Fuse seatpost reduces road shocks and vibrations, and a Giant WheelSystem lets you run tubeless tyres up to 38mm for a smoother ride quality and reduced risk of flats.
Total control - Seamless disc brake integration, including flat mounts and 12mm front and rear thru-axles, produces more consistent braking power for better control, even in wet weather and on rough roads.

    What's the fork made of?

It's full carbon fibre and an oversized steerer. I'm not a fan of carbon fibre forks but if you are buying a bike with one this seems like the best type to buy. Alternatives are carbon fibre blades bonded to an aluminum steerer. They make installing the headset easier but the bonding can fail over time and there has been many forks recalls for such bonded forks. The bonding may take years to fail but when they do fail you will notice it for sure, horrific injuries or even death if they fail at the worst possible time. Giant are a manufacturer and a very good one at that.

For just under a grand this is not much of a deal unless you absolutely must have an all-road bike like this.
There still aren't many true all-road bikes around. And the alloy frames made by Gian are some of the best.
But a double Tiagra and mechanical brakes are a let down here.
This year will bring many more bike offers.

look like mechanical cable disc brakes unless the picture is wrong...

Shame. But at least they're dual piston. Single piston mechanical calipers just need throwing in the bin. Hateful things.

For the price I would hang on for a deal with proper hydraulic brakes. It will happen, be patient.
