I wouldn't bother purchasing if for use outside directly exposed to the elements. The bulbs are made from plastic, not glass, they will fill up with water and if exposed to direct sunlight they will go cloudy within a year. They're also not waterproof, the light string is made for 110v AC lamps not low voltage 5v DC lamps, they're not sealed in any way meaning water will enter through the cable entry points causing the lamp holder contacts and lamp base to corrode the first time they're used when wet.
I had two sets of these in my garden for two years and they only lased as long due to sealing every single lamp base with black sealant and drilling drain holes at the bottom of each bulb. In the end I had to scrap them due to the plastic on the lamps turning brown due to UV damage though they were all working at the point they were taken down.
