Tastes delicious, I doubt a bit of maltitol is worse than what's in the air we breathe or the water we drink. Everything is chemicals these days because we have polluted up the planet so bad. Even if you went to a remote uninhabited part of the Arctic and ate the snow, that still has microplatics in it.

Maltitol is a sugar alcohol used as a sugar substitute. It has 75–90% of the sweetness of sucrose and nearly identical properties, except for browning. It is used to replace table sugar because it is half as energetic, does not promote tooth decay, and has a somewhat lesser effect on blood glucose

After eating maltitol, some people experience stomach pains and gas. It also can act similarly to a laxative and cause diarrhea. The severity of these side effects depends on how much of it you eat and how your body reacts to it. There aren't any other major health concerns with using maltitol or other sugar alcohols.

Don't think I'll be eating this.

So the main ingredient is a sweetener?!

Maltitol is definitely fine in relatively small doses. I try avoid going above 20g per day as I've noticed that's when the "laxative" effects take place, although not necessarily laxative in my own personal experience but more the stool itself is very sticky. And yes I'm talking about poo on a chocolate spread post, sue me.
