Info added by @Sashecuador

  • The MeacoDry Arete® One-18L Dehumidifier & Air Purifier is whisper quiet. At only 40 dB it's more than twice as quiet as the industry standard.
  • The performance and design of this dehumidifier has been created around the British climate and the British user. Arete dehumidifies most efficiently between 10°C and 20°C, to extract the maximum amount of water from the air, when you need it most. Standard dehumidifiers are created to work most efficiently at 27°C, way above the average temperature of a British household.

  • Removes Condensation – Efficiently prevents condensation and mould by capturing moisture in a 4.8 litre water tank.

  • Arete extracts water into an extra-large tank ensuring you wake up to clear windows each morning. The easy to use tank has a cover and carry handle with the option to pour the water away from both the left and right side, making life easy.

  • Purer Than Ever – Our H13 HEPA filter removes 99.95% of particles from the air for year-round air purification.
  • Perfect for customers with asthma or allergies, the medical grade H13 HEPA filter helps to clean the air in your home, removing smells and VOCs from the air. Arete can be used purely as an air purifier in the summer months when dehumidification is not required.

  • There are no complicated controls. Arete has been designed so it is easy to use for everyone. One press of a smart humidity button is all you need to set up your dehumidifier and walk away. Arete will do the rest for you: Arete will increase the fan speed if the humidity level rises and change to a quieter mode when the target humidity has almost been reached. There is also a Child Lock to stop big or small fingers from changing the settings!

  • Arete does not only dry your laundry; it dries your laundry quickly and efficiently whilst monitoring its energy consumption and turns the compressor off when the relative humidity reaches 35%rh to save power. The powerful fan will stay on to make sure your clothes are dry.

  • The MeacoDry Arete® One-18L Dehumidifier and Air Purifier is suitable for use throughout a 4/5 bedroom house. However, this should not be used in enclosed spaces or rooms that are smaller than 4m².

FYI 0.25kW (250w) under the price cap guarantee (£0.34 per kWh) is around 7p an hour to run, so it's very effiecent. (edited)

Our 25 litre costs about 9/10p an hour according to our tapo plug. Also worth noting that this is the cost per hour when running the whole 60 minutes while dehumidifying. When it's only maintaining humidity it costs less as only runs when needed.

Just a note on these for any new users, if you have been drying washing inside during the winter then the fabric of the house is likely to be quite moist. Bought ours about 3 months back now and was on non stop for the first few weeks whilst the house dried out. These are fantastic for removing condensation and you will definitely notice clothes drying faster. They aren't whisper quiet but we have one on landing area and it doesn't disturb sleep. (edited)

A week in socks like a pro vs my ebac 2650e-dehumidifier, I think it as noisy, also note its not that smart, as in the dehumidifier and air purification work until the desired % humidity is reached then it turns off and checks every 30 mins and only comes on if % humidity increases.

I thought the air purification works all the time, answer it can but not with the dehumidifier on in smart mode.

Surely it can't have been that hard to allow the purification to work alone in smart dehumidifier mode.

We got this model for drying the washing in the back room and it’s been fantastic. The clothes are dry in no time.

By any chance, is your room smaller than 4m²? Our bedroom is slightly under this, and in the specs it says not to use in a room smaller than 4m². Not sure if I'm over thinking it 🙈

Definitely the 18l or larger. Ours is a 2 bed and we have the 25l. Overkill possibly but it does the job with ease and very happy with it. We also have a 10l Lidl one and whilst it's great when in one room, it struggles when on the landing

Does anyone know why it says this:

However, this should not be used in enclosed spaces or rooms that are smaller than 4m?

I wanted to use this in an out house which has a small room
