There seem to be a lot of 'deals' promoting Mutti ...

It's because they were only launched in the UK fairly recently, despite them being number 1 in Italy. I tried them for the first time recently, and they are very nice, will def buy again

Wondering how this doesn't get spoiled without any preservatives? or do they not mention all ingredients?

They are heated up to kill micro-organisms but not so much to cook the food with fruit and vegetables but this process reduces the nutritional benefits of the food as vitamins are lost in the process, certain canned foods maybe artificially enriched to add back some of the lost vitamins. Tinned foods are pretty much the most processed foods and the least healthy. Most tinned fruit and vegetables would come out softer and more mushy but you may not notice that so much with chopped tomatoes but you would with whole tomatoes in a tin.

I used to get the 3 for £1 from Asda, haven't been able to for ages now, its 4 for £2 now.
Can you still get them where you are?

It seems to me that there is the usual hyperbole on this Mutti thread. Yes, they are better than your average own label/unbranded tins of tomatoes but they aren't the best around by a long way. I say that as someone who posted the last deal on here at £4.40 or £4.14 with S&S.

    Last week's deal

As ever, the price needs to be taken into account. I reckon that these are worth 75p a tin but I wouldn't pay any more. (edited)

Imagine spending your life denying yourself arguing over an extra 40p a can for superior quality tomatoes.

If the bear has taught me anything, it's that there will be wads of cash inside these. Heat op

Am I the only one who can't tell the difference between these and cheapo brands when cooked. uncooked mutti yes, but when cooked I can't tell any difference

But yes about 75p a tin and you can't go wrong as they definitely don't half half a tin of juice.

I like the 49p cherry tomato ones in b&m recently. Again plenty of juice but I can taste a difference

If you have silicon ice cube trays, you can freeze any left over and use at a later date. It might sound obvious, but a lot of the time a recipe might not call for a whole tin.

Guys please don’t compare these with other tomatoes - Mutti are simply just about the best - excellent price

These are very good, better than Cirio which are only 65% chopped tomatoes plus tomato juice, acidity regulator and citric acid but have less salt at 0.01 g per 100 g.
Mutti have 99.8% chopped tomatoes but they do have more salt at 0.30 g per 100 g so that's more than a gram per 400 g tin, worth bearing in mind if you normally salt your cooking.

Cirio and Mutti always get compared to side by side.
Chose to try these Mutti as they were in Morrisons on sale but not at this price.
I can honestly say my go to "Make it yourself" pasta sauces have tasted way better since using this.
Taste buds don't lie.... This is the way!

KTC (Farmfoods) IS DODGY TRASH, the colour texture is all wrong. Used it for a pizza sauce once, never again. Not had a problem with other brands. please don't mention them again.

But yeah this is a bit steep, but in theory, when you cook tomatoes long enough they go sweet. So will give this a go and see if it works for me.

But yeah 4.67 for 6 is 78p a can. (edited)
