Kudos to @iby2012 for mentioning this yesterday.

I ordered the Black as well as the White ( the White PELB1703 is from the Deal post a few weeks ago - Pro Elec PELB1703 6 Gang Extension Lead with Surge Protection White, 5m - £8.35 @ Amazon | hotukdeals )

Prefer the Black as it won't get discoloured as easily over time!

  • Integral Neon Indicator
  • Rated at 13A
  • BS1363/A Compliant
  • Ideal for use with computer, audio/ video and other sensitive electrical devices

Amazon may be price-matching CPC as it wasn't as cheap as this before (now £8.26 Incl VAT at the moment - free delivery over £20, if that suits you better) cpc.farnell.com/pro…985

CPC's blurb says:

  • Surge protected extension lead with integral neon indicator
  • Rated at 13A and conform to BS 1363/A
  • Voltage: 220V-240V
  • Operating Voltage (Vac RMS): 300V Max.
  • Mains Three Way Protection: LN LE NE
  • Peak Current (A): 4.5kA
  • Max. Energy (Joules): 3x 125J
  • Max. Clamping Voltage: 775V
  • Response Time (nS): <50ns

It's actually been £8.26 for a few weeks, according to Keepa (Amazon prices only), keepa.com/

    Thank you Louise Louise
I noticed the plug is not moulded on either, so easy to shorten the lead if required.

There is one review that complains about the plug not being moulded.49799761-qwIIN.jpg(About this review)
I do see the BS Standard labelling on the plug, though? (The "kite mark"). Unless I'm misunderstanding.49799761-bSSVy.jpg

£8.26 is it’s standard price at CPC. Amazon often more so matching it is still good I guess, especially with prime delivery.

When I did a Deal post for the White equivalent of this it was a bit more on Amazon (and I'm pretty sure, CPC as well) as I would've preferred the Black at the time.

I'd like to point out that there are thousands and thousands of items where the hotukdealer should happily aim to save some cash, but an item that could be the difference between having a home to return to, or not, isn't an item where one should try to skimp. I appreciate CPC are a respected company but regardless, they have to cut back a bit here, buy metal A instead of metal B, etc, to be able to keep pace with the race to the bottom. I'm happy to pay more on the kind of items that can keep me, my loved ones and my house from being potentially endangered, smoke and heat alarms being other examples. As for reviewsers of items that have played a part in burning a house to the ground, they will either be pleased with their purchase...... or will regret it for eternity.

Buy cheap pants, buy cheap jumpers. Electrical safety? Those extra pounds are well spent.
