There was a similar book on here a week ago but it was mainly just about initial setup of raised beds. From quick look through this one goes into sowing seed and maintaining plants in more depth so looks a more useful book.

Shamedbear. Actually you can make a very good plant pot out of a steel car wheel and tyre. You cut the tyre around the circumference. Discard one half, and with the other half of the rubber still on the steel rim, turn the tyre inside out. The wheel rim becomes the base, and you put earth in the remaining rubber ring.

Then paint the outside of the tyre snd rubber. It looks even better if you cut a pattern in the rubber edge, like say a saw tooth.

It used to work better before they started steel reinforcing tyres. Nowadays its a bit more difficult to cut the tyre.
