    If the dog is a nuisance to you, then don't have a dog. Had dogs all my life and never had a problem, but I tend to find it's the owners that want the dog to be a robot, they should have bought an Aibo. As for things like toilet training and chewing stuff.... It's a puppy, they learn in time with no effort. Just accept it will chew stuff and pee in the house from time to time while learning. Let your dog off the lead, it wants to wander and you will need to take it out to the country to walk a lot. If you have the dog on the lead and just walk it around the corner, then it will be aggressive and restless. People just need to use their common sense, buying a Lab or a Spaniel when you live in the city is a no go.

    That's a bit harsh without reading the book - I haven't btw.
    There's nothing wrong with wanting a well behaved dog that doesn't pee everywhere and act unsafe on a lead etc. Without reading the book, it's difficult to criticise it's methods.
    For the record, both my yorkies are very happy.

    just teach the owners to pick up after their little beasts in the park and street and i would be happy, the amount of times i have had to call people out who 'conveniently' didnt notice is a joke
