The flashing element inside is rigid plastic and PCB. My dog had one and while chewing it we heard a crunching sound. Not an hour later the ball had split and there were small sharp fragments of plastic on the floor. I opened it up a little further to look and the inside was a mass of sharp fragments, broken PCB and a couple of small batteries. Could've been deadly had I not been watching her with it so closely, and even then a battery and a few fragments still got out which led to a couple of days worry in case she had swallowed any.
Not worth it at any price.
I had been looking at it for my GSD, and now decided against it.
