Way too expensive for a four year old camera that only shoots 8-bit video and is using the same old sensor from seven years ago. Buy a used A6300 instead and save yourself some money.

Entitled to your opinion, but the a6400 in my opinion is an excellent option. Miles better auto-focus than the a6300 you mentioned. Plus comparing new to used pricing isn't particularly helpful.

owned this camera for about 4 years now. great piece of kit but this is a terrible price. I didnt pay much more when this was new back then.

Reasonable price for what was a top notch compact a few years ago. Before spending this kind of money though I would advise potential buyers to ask themselves what they really want from a camera. For some the mobile phones at this price point are quite superb, others might prefer a DSLR and a kit lens for less money.

Agree completely. I would’ve bought this had it been in the £500/600 bracket but it’s way overpriced for what it is. I had the A6300 back in the day and this is an incremental upgrade pretty much rehashing the same tech. A used GH5 or XT3 offers much better value, unless all you care about is great autofocus. The canon r10 is also a reasonable priced camera with better video codecs, but problem is Sony stubbornly refuses to offer a £1000 camera that shoots 10-bit video, the FX30 is £2100 which is way overpriced. The latest iPhone/google/Samsung phones offer a lot of tech and I’m not surprised less and less people are buying cameras with the price of cameras rising and rising.

It's a good camera, get a few spare battery though as it hammers through them, I ended up trading in for an a6600 and haven't regretted it once.

Honestly not much point in getting the A6600 over the A6400, same sensor, just a bigger battery and ibis. If you gonna pay over a £1000 I’d look into full frame a7c/a7 III used that can be had for cheaper than the a6600 if you shop around.
