I recently picked up the brushless drill with 2 batteries for £80 from Toolstation & the DeWalt version is currently £100 so not blown away by this offer (albeit not directly comparable as this is a set, those are better deals imo). It's an alright deal but there have been some really good deals on drills & impact drivers around recently so I'd wait for one that suits the ecosystem you want to be in. The Fatmax stuff seems well made but it ain't usually cheap either. (I bought the drill as I had a crazy good deal on the nail gun pre-Xmas & the recent drill offer was too good to pass up.)

Not at all comparable at £100 just for the drill lol.

Drill and driver for me every day with the work I've needed from them - much quicker/less frustrating to keep changing bits and I haven't needed the extra power/reliability of the DeWalt in my 3y ownership of an order Stanley FM set

Not a bad price but at the same time not the greatest either.  2.0ah batteries are a bit meh and if you end up in this ecosystem you will end up needing bigger batteries when you pickup a high use tool like a circular saw.  Personally I’d go for something with a couple of 4.0 or 5.0ah batteries as you won’t need to upgrade those further down the line.

As a DIY'r I have the older version of this, still with 2ah batteries and I haven't a bad word to say about them. Just moved house and installed blinds and poles on 6 windows without needing to charge. If you're just a home DIY person there's nothing to be concerned about with the battery life.

This, I have what I assume is a previous version of this set bought for 100 quid. For basic jobs around the house, plus changing wheels etc this kit does the job. The two batteries has the obvious advantage.

I'll be testing it better as I am moving a shed and adding a covered area attached to it, but I've no doubt it'll do what I need.

Plus I find them incredibly comfortable to use. (edited)

Would this be a suitable gift for someone that weighs over 40st?

Depends, it can be a bit chewy in places and probably not the most nutritious snack..

Imo that's actually perfectly adequate for most DIYers.
I thought my 1.3ah would be bad but I've only been caught out once... And that's cos I was drilling porcelain tile (1cm, each hole took 20 mins)... When I knew I should've been using a plug in.

Still managed to finish by swapping batts whilst charging
