    Would recommend considering 16GB RAM in this day and age if you're splashing out this much

    It's frustrating, all these new machines coming out with 8gb of ram.

    If that was right it would be far more interesting.

    What is the real battery life like on these things? I'm a bit to spoiled by the M1 and M2 Macbooks I have. (edited)

    Battery life is dreadful on my SP7 (90 mins - 2h, although I do have far too many tabs open).
    The SP9 should be slightly better (20% more efficient from the top of my head) but absolutely not comparable to an M1 MB

    Returned this as battery life is terrible, 2hrs max on Zoom calls. Switched to a macbook pro m1 and it's been amazing.

    If I'm not mistaken, you can potentially trade-in an old laptop and get up to a further £190 off the price.

    That would bring it down to £809, and considering this looks to be a 16Gb model with all the extras it's not actually too bad of a deal.

    Ordered thanks. I've been doing a lot of pricing research, and this is really a superb deal. You can get the machine for £850 if you shop about, but the keyboard and pen will be at least another £200 - and you need them

    The software will be a bonus for some, I already own it.
