    Yep.... a spoon !
I lived 50+ years on this planet struggling with jar lids, until I discovered the secret....
Its all about the vacuum seal holding the lid on a new jar, use the tip of a small spoon and gently prise under the lid where there's small gaps / against the glass.
You only need move it a millimeter if that until you hear the hiss.... the lid is now loose !

Pointless product. Just knock the side of the lid on the kitchen work too a couple of times and then the jar will open. My old dear in her eighties still did that and it works.

If stab a knife through the lid and evacuate some of the air, you will easily open the lid..do not need such tools..

Anyone used one to know how well it works for Jars? Ideally for an old person, or someone who has less strength than the average person?

I have (and bought for my mum) a battery operated one which is great - search Amazon for battery jar opener.

I bought after it was recommended by sorted food on YouTube but 30 seconds of looking didn't find the video

Spoon does this just as well, possibly safer too. Doesn't take any effort so should work fine for anybody, just don't use some cheapo bendy one.
