sorted byI use a similar device, just not branded as streetwise together with a giffgaff payg sim.
For less than £30/yr you can track your vehicles.
The price here is quite high. I bought a load a few years back for roughly half this.
You've clearly no understanding of exactly how much a subscription to a tracker costs or how much fitting charges are.
In real terms these are a cheap way of tracking a vehicle. Easy & simple to use.
For me it saves having to phone drivers up asking where they are.
Once installed they cost circa £30/year on payg sim top up. So yep, very cheap.
Found it , was actually Amazon I bought it from
TKSTAR GPS TK905 Strong Magnetic GPS Tracker 3 Months Standby Rechargable Tracker For Vehicle Car Truck Real Time Positioning Anti Theft Tracking Devi amazon.co.uk/dp/…EmL
From what I can gather you use a pay as you go phone sim
Don’t want to spend a fortune? So £80 for two plus sim
I got in touch with the mods to have this thread cleaned up after a certain member took it upon themselves to try and argue with any and everyone! MUCH tidier
· a month ago
Don't but this
The instructions that it comes with aren't clear enough so I used the online instructions which are different to what was supplied and it struggles to find a signal, if you car does get stolen and put in a garage or under a roof kiss your car good bye because it will not find a signal if their is an obstacle in the way
✘ No,
I do not recommend this product.
Taken from Halfords website. And won't work on three network full stop.
Hope this is ok advice for everyone
Yes £80 + 1 PAYG sim about £5 top up every few months
Alternatly use one, and hide it realy well, apparently many of the "people" who steal cars move them to a differjent spot and let them sit for a while just to see if they have a tracker on board then take them away.
These are far from perfect but as others mention here they are a decent low cost DIY tracker, as with so many things you are just increasing the percentage of keeping your car safe. (edited)
I don't suppose you have a link to that particular model do you please?
I have this one and it sounds exactly like the one he's describing amazon.co.uk/dp/…F83
If I so much as sit in my car it sends a vibration text alert. The geofence is minimum 100 metres but any vibration in the vehicle it will text you. It goes into sleep mode most of the time which saves the battery but will wake if you text it or if it detects any movement. It's set up with a series of texts. You download the app and make note of the ID number on the back of the device which is used to login to the app and setup all your own settings (edited)
I never used the ring fencing, I just put it under the carpet under the seat
It's the same model but the one on my link is now £34. It's in offer so I'd get it quick
The only difference I see is this
History Track playback:
it can recording and save 180 day history data.
3- multiple positioning way:
No sim included
Doesn’t work on 3 network. (edited)
Its small and pretty easy to hide and if you realy want to be smart get two and put one in the glove box to be found but hide the other well.
Uses a sim and you text a message to it, then it returns your text with a link to google maps showing its location. its prety good if you dont want to spend a fortune on trackers and subcriptions to tracking services. (edited)
Exactly this.
Contrary to what others claim, I have 2x vehicles housed in a metal clad insulated warehouse, which you'd normally struggle to get a mobile phone signal in, yet these trackers work perfectly in the vehicles inside the warehouse.
Thank you, much appreciated. Where abouts would you recommend placing it? 3 months per charge is fantastic. When you're setting up geo-fencing, how accurate can you be, could you set it up for a few metres of movement? (edited)
Hi do you know what the difference is between the one you have linked to and this one- thanks

Yeah I noticed it that price this morning, have been umming and areing over it, just curious about the one I asked about because it had more reviews. Just not sure whether to get the streetwise from Halfords instead
thanks.
wondered why it has more reviews then the one you have.
Just need to decide whether to get this or the streetwise from Halfords, price wise it isn’t an issue.
All depends what you going use it for
Mine I like the simple life and often spends months away from home so I check every so often that my car hasn’t been robbed by sending it a text msg and it responds with its location
Been honest it makes no odds if car is robbed or not if I away as nothing I can really do till I get home so prob best I didn’t know if it was one time it did come in handy when I did the meet and greet airport parking where they meet you take your car to their secure car park only when I checked they actually took it home with them 😳
No way..!!
I decided on the Amazon one.Just need to look into which sim to get now.
