Try and use one of the old software self checkouts, it didn’t work on the new ones, was only one discount there. (edited)

Some people benefit from not just this but the deals advertised. Without it we would be like last to know.

I guess the ppl who would benefit would be ppl going in as they do most days to buy a meal deal rather then ppl jumping in their car to get a free sandwich. I’m sure there was someone who cleared the shelves and now has 50 package sandwiches that go out date tomorrow and now there’s no lunch for the regular customers (edited)

This is not a deal but a glitch. Should not be promoted on hotukdeals. It is an accidental mis-price by Tesco and not intentional. It is an exploit. I guess though because Tesco is rich and has lots of money etc it's "okay" to exploit them.

If you add one of the expensive £2+ drinks like Smoothie or Coconut water the meal is free

Worked in mine, just dropped a load off to the local homeless gang. Good deed done for the day!

I’ve been saying this all day and got moaned at. Ppl who get a meal deal anyway would have got a freebie or a good deal but it worries me that ppl want to run off to Tesco to bag a free sandwich, drink and crisps when you can make it yourself at home for less then quid. Meal deal will prob go up in price next week to recoup the loss of money plus supply chain issues as everyone wanted a red bull or monster with lunch today to max the free valueBy the time you drive there and back prob spent that on fuel. Years ago I use to coupon and deal hunt in shops and you’d end up wasting time on wild goose chases for stuff you prob don’t need or would never buy normally (edited)

The rules state you can go out as long as you don’t show symptoms, dumb rule.

Does anyone else remember the carton tomatoes one…. People were going back in with trolley fulls to buy them again

full weeks shop was working out for 60p and cashier said that’s cheap and let it go haha

Confirmed that it works in CASH and CARD self service tills. Will NOT work in the newer CARD only tills.
Just been through twice, 2nd time discount didn't happen, so re scanned through till I used first time and the discount went through.
Even staff where trying to keep the glitch on the low

I'm sure you've done tons of things that have come off as desperate or embarassing, in the end who cares?

Besides it's not just the sandwich, tell me where I can get the drink + crisp for that price. Better to read the post before commenting (edited)

Someone’s getting fired over this one. Reminds me of the ASDA VAT glitch many years ago. I got a van full of Miller for basically free. Yes it was Miller but I was a student. That weekend was wild.

Lol i was trying to make a point that if people need help of glitches to buy a sandwich then they should neither own any smartphone let alone Iphone because food is basic necessity..there is difference between genuine offers and taking advantage of some technical errors or mistakes to buy something as basic as sandwich

So it's deducting the meal deal discount twice. I'm not going to add for delivery or c&c as will probably be fixed by the time the order is picked and charged.
