Order refunded. Why accept orders for items you don’t have in stock? Absolutely ridiculous. I will definitely avoid this company in the future.

Of course, anyone who has opened the credit account now has a line of credit with them. Plus they may have given them marketing permissions.

So what's the chance they get a good lot of sales, and debt, for selling an advent calendar which they never really had.

Presumably this goes as an application for credit on your file. Not really worth if for a tenner IMO

Why do you think credit on file is always a bad thing?

I do not think that credit on file is always a bad thing. Far from it.

However, multiple credit searches are seen as a risk to other lenders. Opening a credit account with a BNPL retailer will likely result in an account with more of a limit than the amount you intend to borrow, creating the illusion that you are more indebted than you actually are. This £20 advent calendar might see you open a credit account with a limit of £500. Again, this can have a negative impact on future borrowing.

Unless someone is certain that they do not need access to credit in the near future, whether that is a mortgage, car loan, new mobile phone contract or similar, I would recommend that they do not sign up to this credit account for the sole purpose of saving £10 on an advent calendar.

And if someone requires credit to purchase an advent calendar as they are unable to purchase it from their liquid funds, I'd also give them a steer to forget it.

That's a fair point. However my credit is good. I pay my bills on time and will likely close this once I receive the item. This post was never to incite people to get into any form of debt I had funds available to pay for it straight away.

I would never try to open a credit account with a bad credit file. That's asking for future problems. (edited)

Same. Had a 'Your order is being processed' email and then at the bottom of the message - "Sorry, the following items are not currently available and will not be sent."

Another atrocious company. They're on the DTM list along with IWOOT. Terrible.

'Please allow 28 days for delivery' means that they are still awaiting stock into their warehouse. I was told the listing has a 'yellow tick' which means 'Available to order'. It is only 'in stock' when their is a 'green tick' - and it will show something like '3 to 7 days' for delivery.I tried to re-order before I knew this but was unable to use the original code '012' to get free delivery and £5 off my first order. I was advised to monitor the site and once it is in stock (green tick) to ring up and they will amend the order to get it back to the £14.99 I originally paid.Absolute shambles.

I had mine cancelled. And I was the deal poster they've put them back in stock again. But bargainmax have them for a couple pound more so I've reordered there instead.

And I had the same thing re using the 012 code. But they'd only let me use it if I reordered the same item again shambles of a company (edited)

you live and learn. It is absolutely not in stock, though. Confirmed by Studio themselves - just available to order whilst they await stock. At the time of writing 62 people have 'bought' it today. That's another 62 disappointed people.

It feels like a very underhand practice of getting people to sign up for a credit account under the pretence of having stock. "available to order" is ambiguous without knowing that it essentially means not in-stock. Saying it is on backorder would at least be a little more transparent.

Has anyone else had their £14.99 order cancelled previously as they were out of stock but then a couple of days later they are in stock at a higher price ? Really dodgey practice if you ask me.

Yes, myself. I ordered a few things alongside this which I received but the advent was cancelled. Someone a few comments up mentioned that although it says able to order, unless there is a green tick, it's not actually instock (after speaking to customer services)

I ended up ordering from bargain max instead. Arrived 2 days after purchase. (See my deals for link) bit more expensive but still cheaper than the rrp and actually instock.

This recently posted deal for Roblox figures has 4 figures and 9 accessories for £14.99. So this deal with 6 figures and 19 accessories seems good value in comparison. Picked it up for £14.99 with the credit account offer. Thanks OP

Seems to be a bit of a reoccurring trend on this site. Many items advertised as deals where in reality the item is not without fault.
  30. rossygnol's avatar
Unlikely to use this site again. They don't even ask for optional repayment methods when opening credit account. I played it safe and paid £14.99 into my account straight away
