It's fairly common for companies to offload genuine stock of poor quality. Like Levis. Seems wrong, but hey if they don't value their own brand, it's on them.
Here's a naughty trick. You order the genuine article at full price and also the 'second rate' version in same size.
Stick the dodgy one in the return bag and claim refund on the more expensive.

Guess we'll find out if they're fake when someone who's actually purchased one, receives it and comments, all supposition until then, will let you know when I've received mine, and give an update on where my ungrateful children ended up living, should the worst happen. (edited)
