Chicken Tuesday...well its a chicken shop...they couldnt call it much else unless you include the greasy nasty heart attack ridden coating but somehow that doesnt have the same appeal. I cook my own chicken. I buy a bag of thighs, season it using my own secret recipe and everyone agrees its miles better than the competition and at a fraction of the cost. I used to get through a 6 piece wicked variety bucket in half an hour once a week but now have type 2 diabetes. The glucose in my blood went off the scale recently and now im injecting insulin 3 times a day to control it. It seemed like a good idea at the time but its not fun being full of the fat this food has left me with and not fun injecting either. Dont do it kids. Cook your own its easy, cheaper and miles better for you. Better still eat loads of veggies, you wont regret it. Take it from a man who has the tshirt and the badge

It’s about insulin resistance. There are different types of diabetes. The more fat you have stored, the less the body respond to insulin. This is type 2 or diet controlled diabetes. Young overweight kids can also have this which is called maturity onset diabetes of the young. Lose the fat and the insulin works again.

We all live and eat etc as we want to but when someone like me has an opinion or wants to help other people just ridicule it. I just hope you all don't end up like me or worse that's all i'm hoping and wish for, but i guess that's going to be wrong too no doubt

My condolences for your current condition but truth be told you obviously had a lot more going on with your diet than a KFC bucket once a week..? Everything in moderation as they say.

I sat and ate 64 chicken McNuggets once (tried to hit 100, they’re not that filling but my god do they feel like sandpaper in your mouth after 50) but then I probably didn’t touch Maccys again for a few months.

Anyway, +1 for chicken Tuesdays FTW! 9 piece bucket for one coming my way (edited)

Thanks for sharing and sorry to hear about your condition, but it's all about moderation. Eating this even once a week whilst this promo is on would not give you diabetes, if you did it for your whole life.

Sure, it's not good for you, but it's about the other 20 meals of the week, the snacks in between, the exercise, the alcohol, the addictions, not this one meal.

I'm sure everyone here knows the less they eat this the healthier they'd be, and the more they go to the gym and eat broccoli vice versa. Hell, I'm a bit of a gym freak myself, and I'm currently training for a half marathon in July.

But I won't hesitate to murder one of these every week or two, especially for the price. And I know that it won't give me diabetes, because it encompasses less than 5% of my week. Heat OP!

[Image] The price of add ons have gone up. My pic taken yesterday.

    that's a shame
I usually added the 8 wings for £3
    but now it's £3.99
    which is strange as buying 8 wings separately is 99p x 4 = £3.96
the other chicken add-ons still have a saving
  18. johnnyshuttle's avatar
Never again…. I went to my local one on Manvers Way near Wombwell and out of the 9 pieces there were 4 drumsticks, 4 thighs and a small wing that were what I could describe as being fried in over-used oil that left an acrid taste and a dark brownness to the oil that coated the base of the tub.
I sent a justified complaint to head office and they refunded me the money…

I know all KFC’s are not the same but I always find the experience is potluck. (edited)

This version adds not just carbs but saturated fat and calories as well to menu items at restaurants like KFC

Better to live 1 day as a Lion than 100 years as a Chicken. If your 'secret recipe' is so much better than KFC do you have any plans to open up a highly successful chain of restaurants?

It's to push you up to just getting 4 for £1.98, I forget the word for it but some prices like £1.59 seem like almost £2, so its a "might as well pay an actual £2 (£1.98) and get am extra wing"

All the big fast food chains do this to some degree, if you're there you're hungry, and it's easier to justify an extra food for "the same cost" while your hungry
