Just buy separate speakers, they will be better than anything in a monitor anyway.

    It's Full HD, not 2k or 4k.

Dell hope you steal this from them. Do yourself a favour and spend 20-30£ more to get a proper resolution in 2022. Full HD on 27 inch is truly a horrible experience. (edited)

You don't need to be a gamer to be interested in 4K... 2k and 4k monitors are superior in compare to full HD, even for work if you're not a gamer... Full HD resolution just looks really bad on a 27 monitors.

meh seen cheaper and better monitors. I bought from AO eBay the 165Hz HP Omen 25i £119 which is VESA certified Display HDR 400. Recently a couple of their other Omen monitors been on sale. Worth waiting for a deal imho.

Same. 1080p at 27inch doesn't make for great viewing, high refresh rate doesn't make up for that.

Well, I saw the deal on Friday, I received the Monitor on Monday. It works as a charm in my wfh setup; unless you are a heavy gamer, I think this is a great deal.

    I've got both of these:

    LG 27GN850-B
    amazon.co.uk/gp/…P9/

    BenQ EX2780Q
    amazon.co.uk/gp/…JP/

The first one was bought for gaming, the second primarily for home working. There's not much between them but IMO the image quality on the BenQ is slightly better (there's some slight weirdness around the edges on the LG). The BenQ is also cheaper, and as a bonus it has built in speakers that are actually pretty good.

I run 1080p on a 34in ultrawide at 166Hz - works very well, no complaints whatsoever.
Helps to push max. FPS in competitive gaming etc also. (edited)

Thanks OP, decided to go for it. Was about to pull the trigger on the aoc 27g2u at £165 after a few reviews saying 1080p on it was absolutely fine, including this one

If not then it'll be going back! Cheers

We have a 32" 1080p monitor, which is still fine for us.

Not sure why some people think 1080p on a 27" monitor is such a big issue.
Sure, a higher res is nice, but in no way makes this a bad sceen (especially for those with a GPU that would struggle a little at 1440p anyway). At this price that's a very good screen. (edited)

Ordered for my son after missing last time

One comment to the 27 too big at 1080 crew - how many kids sit a few feet away from a 55inch TV playing Xbox, which is....1080 without complaining
    marteee's avatar
    marteee
Yes, but you don't sit a few feet from a monitor (and you should discourage your kids from being a few feet from a 55inch TV too tbh!), its more likely around one to two feet which is why it looks poor. Just set realistic expectations and this thing is still a bargain, its just not going to look great. (edited)

Looking for some advice and real life use please if you can advise ?

Looking at a monitor for sons Nintendo switch.

Keep reading how 1080p is ideal, which this monitor is. As well as low 1ms response rate / or close to that.

What I’m debating is if 27” or 24” is better?

24 is supposed to be sharpest.

27 is nice because it’s just bigger, but less sharp.

So wondering if anyone uses 24 or 27 for Nintendo switch and what it’s like?

****and if went from 27 to 24, or 24 to 27, and what you noticed****

    Thank you all
    kndusr19's avatar
    kndusr19
1080p for switch is ideal becuase that is the highest resolution the Nintendo switch supports.

bigger is better usually, When you switch your tv from a 32" Full hd to a 55" Full hd, did you worry about the sharpness of the picture when watching full hd content?

Don't worry about the naysayer's, 3" does not matter much....well that is what I tell the missus

I had a 27" 1440p as a second monitor for work and I found the font too small. I find 1440p perfect for 32" which I use for work and gaming.

just got this delivered today. great deal for the price and not sure how anyone can say spend £50 more for a better resolution. Granted, 2k is far superior at this size as that's what I use on my main PC, but you're never going to get 165hz, 1ms, IPS for anything under £200 @ 1440p.

I realise not everyone will be eligible for this but for those searching for a QHD display, I decided to go for the BenQ EX2780Q from Very. It's down to £219 but using the "WELCOME" code for the first purchase on their credit account it came to £179.19 (with delivery). I reckon that's a fantastic price for an extremely well reviewed and spec'd monitor. I couldn't find better. Hope this helps someone.

The BenQ is down to £199 now (10% off) even for those who can't use the credit account discount. I'm having issues connecting it via HDMI on a Windows 11 laptop, USBC connection is fine and hdmi on my other windows 10 laptop is also fine. It may just be my laptop. Apart from that it's a great monitor.

I think this is perfect for a 'young' gamer and/or one with 'basic' gaming PC to start out with.

PLUS, it is pretty good for Nintendo Switch, why my young gamer is mostly into, and inching towards 'gaming PCs'.

    Ordered for mine.

Later on, we can look at 1440p and better GPUs and CPUs for the gaming PC.
