I think this one is a better deal right now:

Deal: Belkin BoostCharge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe (Fast charging up to 15W, Pop-up stand for flawless compatibility with iPhone 14, 13 and iPhone 12 series, PSU not included) – White amzn.eu/d/2…BuR

Full 15W (not just 7.5 as with most 3rd parties), long cable, kickstand.

Don’t do it. The cables to the puks are really short. Fine is it’s a work desk to a cable tray with power underneath, but if you want it on like a sideboard at home where it needs to reach to a skirting board level plug you’re screwed.

I use a wireless charger now, any point in getting a MagSafe charger?

It depends if you struggle to “align” it for charging. MagSafe uses the magnets to ‘perfectly align” which allows the inductive process to work better.

Are these worth it? Or not much more practical than a lightening cable?

Also will it work with the new 14 models? Also assuming you have to detach Apple wallet for it to work

I have one hooked up to the anker 20w chargers that were on deal recently. Charges quite fast in my opinion. But i like the convenience of not having to mess with cables.

Bought cheap ones don’t really work with MagSafe AirPods cases - annoying . Original will
Have better build and stronger magnet , depending on use (edited)

I’ve had one for a couple of years and love it. So much easier than plugging the cable in when you put it on the bedside table; also saves cable damage when you grab your phone in the night and forget it’s plugged in. It does however get quite warm when charging.

I found it got warm. But then i got a rubber enclosure for the magsafe puk and now it doesn’t do that. Not sure if the extra layer helps with the heat or something. Still charges just as fast

Thanks OP. The camera bump on my new iPhone 14 Pro Max stops the other wireless charges we have from making proper contact. Guess I'm going MagSafe.

You can get these a bit cheaper on eBay. Mix of new and used. They're £32 at CEX. Sometimes new in box but if you're not fussed about open box then it doesn't matter as you also get 2 years warranty with them.

my friend got one from CEX and months later found out it was fake when it didn't accept a firmware update

Good price but there are many cheaper alternatives that will do exactly the same job

I like my MagSafe charger but agree the 1m cable is a bit annoying - would be better to have a longer cable.
It does get warm and charging is quite rapid. I usually charge overnight so I do wonder if using a standard USB-A charger and slower charge rate might prolong the battery life whereas hot rapid charging may reduce it over time.
The magnet is quite strong too - I want to be able to lift the phone of the MagSafe charger without holding on to the charger but I guess I’m just being picky and should probably stick the charger to my bedside cabinet somehow.

Is it safe to have this thing producing magnetic fields all night next to your head?
