Extended battery life- you'll have up to two years of battery life with two AA lithium batteries per camera and floodlight (included). Even more handy now that the longer winter nights are upon us, you can have the confidence that your home is protected all the time, without having to worry about changing the batteries! (Battery life is based on default settings and will vary based on device settings, use, and environmental factors.)

Set up in seconds- with everything you need to get set up in the box, no professional installation required, and no need for electrical sockets, installation is quick and easy. The wireless design means you can install your cameras and floodlight wherever you need them most - whether that's indoors or outdoors. Plus, you can easily move them whenever you need to.

Light it up - supplying 700 lumens of motion-triggered, high-quality LED light, this floodlight will help you to see it all. Connected to the camera's motion sensor, the floodlight will activate and alert your smartphone that motion has been detected. Alternatively, use the Blink Home Monitor smartphone app to manually operate your floodlight for illumination.

''Alexa, turn on my floodlights!'' - enjoy hands-free security by activating and monitoring your home and floodlights live using your voice. Ask Alexa to stream your live video feed, switch on floodlights, play recorded clips, switch the camera on and off, and much more.

I have this and I think they are great.
Note: 1. Floodlight only comes on when the camera is armed, meaning will record. You cant have the floodlight activate without camera recording. So, if you want it as an outdoor light after dark say 7pm but you don't want to record until after 10pm, you can't.

The recording is good with the floodlight and with street lighting nearby. Without these, the night vision is under par. I advise turning night vision off as I think quality is better using streetlight

There is no human detection, only motion detection. So I get activations from cats foxes etc. You can adjust sensitivity

It is very good at setting areas not to record and areas not to set off motion detection. This is very useful.

I've had mine for about 9 months, the camera activates 1-2 times a night and battery still going.

Floodlight rarely activates so can't comment on battery there.

There is about 5-10 second lag on motion and sound, so no good for speaking to delivery drivers

Overall, very good for the price. Does what I want just fine. Wish they would allow the floodlight to act independent of the camera.

I have not put an SD card in the sync module not paid for any subscription, and the videos seem to save to the cloud and work as I understand the premium subscription does.

I needed to upgrade my WiFi router to a mesh to get the cameras working at front and back of my house.

    Hope this helps

Try setting your camera to early notification in the settings. 5-10 second lag is crazy long, mine is almost instant.

Just a thought: Whatever it is you should not put people's faces on here. At least blur them. Doesn't seem like you have secured permission to plaster their photo on a public forums for your review.

    Anyone have these?
    ncd's avatar
Yes, got one high above my front door look down on my door step area and also one out the back looking at the area around the back door. Both work well and all saved to a USB stick in the hub.

    How's the battery life?
    Kermatt's avatar
Mine has been hammered, over my doorstep. Me cutting the grass, the carpet fitters activated it 143 times in a day (new build, laying carpets across the house, shaving doors etc), and it's still going. Been up since July.

Don't know if there's a way to get stats. I occasionally get high usage warnings but I think the amount it is seeing it is doing very very well!

174 recordings in the past month. I'm sure it was about 280 last month. Overall I'm impressed with the battery. (edited)

i got blink, some days it doesn't detect anything, also it only records when it detects something, you cant just go to a date and time and watch unfortunately
    KC30's avatar
You can increase your sensitivity in the settings. I've had these for YEARS and they do detect everything

Is there any way to run a usb cable to these as I do not want to keep getting ladders out to get at batteries when they need replacing?
    Nicolidus's avatar
They do a solar panel as well as this floodlight, so presumably a USB would also work for power. I’ve had mine up for a year and haven’t needed to change the batteries, so you may only need to get the ladders out occasionally.

New model is being released in Q4, which explains the reduction.

I was thinking of this for our apartment abroad but am not very savvy and have a couple of questions if anyone can help.

    A. If I was to put a camera on the terrace can I switch it off when I'm home?

    B. If I put the floodlight one by front door (This is outside) can floodlight be switched off when not needed but leave camera running.

    C. Does it need powerful wifi - we only have adsl and it isn't very powerful.
    Birdbird85's avatar
    Hi.
I'll try and answer your questions. I have had these for years in various models so know a bit about them.
    A. You cannot switch it off completely, remotely - only disable it. I can access ours in Tenerife no problem. Batteries last a really long time if the camera is not constantly activating. I recharge them each time we are out though.
    B. Yes this can be done. The floodlight is tethered to the camera attached but works and is controlled independently if needed.
    C. I don't think this would work very well as all clips are recorded and sent over wi-fi. Plus if you drop in to listen or live view it would be of poor quality, lag or may just not work. I use a 4g SIM router and it just about copes. They work a lot better in my UK home with fibre though.
    Hope this helps.

MIne`s never worked properly. It cant connect to my internet, which is one wall and 15ft away. Camera in outside porch, and the sync unit is 1 ft from my router. At best i had intermittent video....when i viewed footage in my front room. If i am away from my house, it never connects. Poor product if it cant connect from 15ft. I was told, to move my internet router closer??? Which i cant, as i have no plug socket in my 5ftx2ft hallway. (But my phone can connect to spotify in my garden through 2 walls and 40 ft away).
    Crossbow's avatar
This could be worth a try if not already done...
These cameras only work with a 2.4Ghz WiFi band, so it's worth splitting your router's WiFi into 2 separate bands (5Ghz being the other one), then trying to reconnect them to the 2.4Ghz one only - most ISPs have an easy to follow step-by-step online guide how to do this split in their router's settings (reply if you need help with this).
Create slightly different SSIDs (WiFi names) - e.g. Neil-2.4 & Neil-5 for the 2.4 & 5Ghz bands respectively, using the same/original password for both.
Then, setup the cameras' connections close to the router to being with. Once properly connected & tested working fine connected to Neil-2.4, you can move them to their required locations.

Can anyone help me with this question? - I use my mobile phone internet when at home, so do not have home Broadband. Will I still be able to record directly to the included Blink Sync Module 2 via a USB flash drive without home internet?
    Crossbow's avatar
Not sure about your specific question about recording, but do note as these kinds of devices only work with a 2.4Ghz WiFi band, you will need to re-transmit your mobile data connection via a hotspot device (a spare phone perhaps) in order to create the compatible WiFi connection for it to work - please read more detailed info in these related links...

I think these are good for the price, I have a doorbell, outdoor camera and indoor camera. There are a few annoyances though, 1st they take absolutely ages to show a live video, so for the doorbell it's useless as a 2 way communication (I bought it for this reason as I work from home in a garden building but I find it's quicker to just go to the front door so at least I get the notification someone is there) 2nd you can't have different cameras on different schedules unless you have multiple sync modules which means they either all record or none record.
    Nicolidus's avatar
Have you tried enabling ‘early notification’ in the settings?

Thanks OP. Looks interesting until I saw it was QVC. Does anyone know another retailer with this deal?
A friend of mine ordered a diamond ring which never turned up. QVC/courier claimed it was delivered. When pressed they eventually came up with a forged signature, but still refused to refund or send another ring. After applying charge back the bank refunded the money.
QVC then disputed the charge back and the bank automatically sent the money back to QVC, putting their customer overdrawn !
Reminds me to remind them to sue QVC and the bank! (edited)
    2861445's avatar
A charge back is usually temporary. Your friend needs to look at other routes i.e. ombudsman, or more easily, section 75 if they paid on a credit card. MSE has a whole guide on it.

Does this require a monthly subscription?
    Kermatt's avatar
Yes and no. I've been using it on subscription since July, and I know others have for a lot longer than this. The subscription is free until at least January 23. It has been extended, to my knowledge, at least 3 times. It may, or may not get extended again.

However you can use it without subscription by using a USB stick for recording, this pops into the hub and works well for a lot of people.

Personally, given the additional features and convenience of the subscription, I'll pay the £80 a year once the free subscription ends. £6.67 per month is pennies for the increased peace of mind really. Most people waste more than that in a few days on beer/coffee/wine/cakes et al lol.

Does anyone have these in am area without street lighting? My parents need cameras after being burgled but night time is pitch black so not sure how well they would work? Thanks
    frenchian's avatar
We live in deepest darkest Devon - no light at all at night. I've got 5 Blink cameras (no spotlights) and have been impressed with their performance compared to price. Night vision is better than my wired Yi cameras but there's obviously a degradation compared with daytime.
If placed near a PIR spotlight they work really well after a bit of faffing about to get them both working in unison.

I'm planning to mount the security light and camera on the front of my garage, overlooking our drive. Am I right in thinking there's no way to secure the camera to the mount? i.e. It can just be slidden off?
    Drogba's avatar
Yes. I have placed mine on a long scaffold bar that I use for one end of the washing line in the garden - so it covers a large area of back of house while elevated about 10 feet in the air, sourounded by rose bushes and with a glass greenhouse. Would be hard to steal without risk. If you are placing at front of house you may want to attach it to the side of the house at a hard to reach point, while looking down onto driveway. Otherwise, as you say, these are real easy to just remove/steal.

QVC does these promos prior to an AMAZON event. They are getting in before an almost certain better deal (maybe of different combo packages) witl be offered soon by AMAZON. If new models are due for launch there could be good reductions on the current range. Best to wait for BLACK FRIDAY, but if you wanted to evaluate the system you could get the QVC offer till midnight with 60 day return. Although now only on advanced orders for delivery from 21st November. (edited)

didnt work for me either (after first time sign-up). Maybe purchase anyway as you do not want to miss this offer, and contact them after. Maybe they can refund the £5 after. If you do this, let me know how you get along and I will do the same.

Just seen that their telephone lines are open until 11pm so you could ring them to make an order and ask them to apply the code

I would say mounting the floodlight on a wall and be able to look straight down below it, will not work there would be a bit of a dead zone someone could hide in (edited)
