Be informed, you're in contract for 24 months. price increases next year:

    EE Mobile: CPI (based on 12.6%) + 3.9% = 16.5%

I'm reading this as 6 months at ½ price, £14.20. Then 18 months at £28. No EU roaming included either, it's an extra £10.

Hopefully I'm wrong as I'm looking for a decent EE deal.

The deal landing page has been updated to reflect that.

    The 388.80 = 24 * 16.20 seems incorrect and it should be
    6 * 16. 20 + 18 * 32.40 = 680.40

More generally, 6 months half-price of a 24 month contract will be a factor of 7/8 of the original price averaged across the term. (edited)

I was due to leave them at the end of this month, picked up a 1pmobile SIM and requested my transfer code from EE. Got a call from their retentions team within 20 mins offering me £15pm 12 months with 125GB of 5G data.

I really like the EE signal around my area so I went for it. I wasn't going to be upgrading my phone this year due to the price contracts and the RPI increase in March on a 24mo wasn't selling it for me. (edited)

Sent a request to EE for my PAC code this morning to see what happened and within 90 mins had a phone call seeing what they could do to keep me.

Managed to upgrade my sim to 250gb a month with EU roaming included on a 12 month sim for £13.50 a month. Downgraded my wife’s sim to 6gb for £6 a month and will just gift data if required. Overall we’re getting 86gb more data month for approx £10/£11 less than we were paying.

The chap was also able to renegotiate my BT broadband deal as well and went from paying £36.05 for Fibre 100 to now getting Fibre 500 for £30.99.

Overall saving around £16 a month on SIM and broadband costs (for more data and faster speeds) until April at least and even then probably be marginally better off than what we were paying previously

The link goes to a page which has 'view on EE'...
48824836-mokWH.jpgWhen I click to view on EE, I can't find the 100gb/200gb (or a 50gb) option anywhere, just the half price for 6 month black Friday options..

I was hoping if someone could help. My EE contract runs out on the 2nd December - they gave me a PAC code as interestingly enough it won't revert to PAYG.

I tried getting the 100gb deal and successfully applied the bluelight discount. However, I get error 405 when the credit check starts. I'm trying to do this as a new line and then transfer my number back (apparently I gt to move to another provider on PAYG then move back!).

They weren't very helpful on the phone in terms of offering any upgrades to this price. The gentleman also said this deal is an error which I know is not right!
    spiritdawnwolf's avatar

You won't be automatically changed onto payg at the end of your contract, you have to request it.
As mentioned above, if you come to end of contract and do nothing, you will stay on same tariff just running month by month until you tell EE what you want to do.
If you have an active PAC code then it freezes your account for any changes as it assumes you want to move away, therefore you cannot get upgrade offers or port to payg. You will need to ask them to cancel the PAC so it makes your account active again for changes/upgrades.
You cannot port a live EE number onto another live E E number which is why you would need to take your number to a different network, then get PAC code from that network and port back in to overwrite your new connection.

So I ordered with the BT Broadband offer (10gb sim for £9) and a student beans code to take off 20% which brought the price down to £7.20, however I got a call saying that only the bt discount could be applied, and not the student discount, making it the usual £9 a month

Has anyone managed to order with both discounts?

EDIT: Managed to add the discount and additional 10GB data via live chat after sim arrived. Final Total is £7.20pm for 20gb data. Thanks OP

Oh another thing is that there’s no speed caps! (edited)

Yes. However I received a text to call them up to give more information to progress my order. After calling they said there was an issue applying the discounts but the lady I spoke to put me on hold and applied the discounts manually.

I went for the 100GB offer, so it was £10.80 after both discounts.

Historically, you can transfer up to 200 GB (or so) at the start of the billing cycle to other SIMs on your account (not an independent account registered to someone else). You then start eating in to that 200 GB giftable allowance first if you gift later than the very start of the billing cycle when the giftable allowance is refreshed. The terms can be checked for the current situation.

Also not a BT customer but logged into my EE and added this to basket altho I'm looking at the 100gb SO for 13.50/m. I'm not a student and only see promo code for possible extra off.

Looking to upgrade as finally now eligible and prefer to stick with EE. Wonder if can do better on the phone with retentions tho. Hmm.

Brace for the +15% increase next March. The best moment to open a contract is in April, so you’re not affected by those price bumps.

The old 125GB deal was better. That was 125GB on a 12 month contract, with double discount on BT/EE with BLC for £12.96. I understand not everyone has BLC, but it was better being on 12 months. Granted, that this isn’t a bad deal.

hmmm the EE site is giving me worse deals than I saw a few days ago in their pre-black friday sale!
I'm on £25/m for 200gb data + BT sport and i can only get less data than that for the same price now!

i will find the best deal on uswitch and have a word with customer services later to see if can get me a nice deal

they also had like £200 pre-paid card 'cash back' on pixel etc too (edited)

This deal is really, really bad because it reverts to twice the price after 6 months. Nowhere in the deal post do you mention this. I know you are Mr Switch but please do better. I really hope they clarify this deal because as it stands the post is misleading.

EDIT: Sorry Mr Switch. My bad on the EE site there is the same thing for the same price £16.20 and it's called the black friday deal but it reverts after 6 months. If I click the link in the deal it looks like £16.20 for the full 24. (edited)

If you are an existing EE customer with no BT, worth trying to port number away then you will get better offers from EE when calling them up. I eventually got £18 / month for unlimited data, no speed cap on 5g.

I called EE yesterday, they wouldn't match this threads deal as I am not with BT or get anywhere close to it really. Requested PAC code, started port, tested speeds with new vodaphone sim and way slower than EE.

Called EE again just now, got through to retentions who mentioned that as i requested PAC code (and maybe as I started the p[ort process from my number) they now have access to other offers that they didn't before. Got £18 / month for unlimited data, no speed cap. So sounds like the people on the phone really don't get access to these better offers unless a pac and or transfer is started.

For those that ordered a SIM, I ordered Friday night and have just phoned them this morning. I've only had a single email with a confirmation number on it. Nothing about the order being dispatched. They've confirmed it's been sent by royal mail, likely to arrive in a day or so because of the royal mail strikes. I've also provided my PAC code , and this won't be used until I put the new SIM in my phone and made a call. Other than an awfully long wait to get to speak to someone, pleasant experience speaking to the EE representative.

Also if anyone needs a student code here's one. Do post here if you use it though

These deals aren't findable from the main EE site (for me at least!) and if I deselect BT customer (I'm not) they go away.

I'll get my OH to call EE .. but has anyone had success as a non BT customer?
Are they eligible for 'EE perks' 20% discount?

I ask as in many ways they are better value than the headlined tariffs!

(Personally I'm on a 160GB i got a year ago for ~14 month which was from an ex-PAYG 6/month discount)
    Stoofa's avatar

Looking for the exact same answer - same situation.
It takes you through to the main EE website to check out - but any double data offers are missing (I'm not a BT customer).
If I can sign up for the 50GB deal currently floating around - with 20% Perks, that is £10.80/month which I'm happy with - just I'm not a BT customer.
If all I lose is the double data - cool. If however they find out I'm not a customer and increase the price, less so. Although I guess there is always the ability to just leave.

    MichaelLi's avatar

Their community forum has historically indicated that there's not much that can be done and historically it's better to try elsewhere as the results of the credit check are unlikely to be the same as EE's conclusion. (edited)

So I already have a SIM only contract with EE that runs out in January. Can I take this deal on top of that one, port my number over, and just pay the last couple of months on the old deal and then cancel?
    MichaelLi's avatar
    MichaelLi
If you check the upgrade options for the contract that runs out in Jan, it's likely you can upgrade without penalty to one of the other options (you could open an online chat to confirm and save the transcript). You might want to double check the terms and conditions, but in principle EE should be happy to have you either pay more or commit to a longer minimum term period which you have remaining. Taking out an Additional Line with the deal and trying to get a number moved between different EE contracts I think has historically not been something they've been willing to allow (I think most networks historically do not allow porting of a number within their own network).
  32. Stoofa's avatar

    Hummm - I've hit a wall I didn't expect.
Go through the process and 'm told "It looks like you're already an EE customer" which I'm not - left nearly a year ago.
Have tried 3 different email addresses and get the same each time, so it's obviously finding my name & address from somewhere.
If I do as suggested and attempt to log into my existing account, I get the message "Unable to login to this account".
    MichaelLi's avatar
    MichaelLi
Do you need to get all the way to checking out to hit this? I'm sure I've seen this before when trying some months ago as an active EE customer with active EE account. Another user has first-hand experience they are able to buy a new contract using an existing email address registered with EE but I've never come across that before. I don't recall if you can open an online chat with EE without being logged in.

Ordered Monday, on the order confirmation page it said someone would contact me within 48 hours.

Received calls yesterday that I just ignored/was away from phone. I did have an item in the basket so maybe that's why they called and perhaps had nothing to do with my sim order.

Today I got an email saying the sim's been despatched.

    Looking good so far.
