    Can I ask what’s Volt ?
    Toon_army's avatar
Basically if you have Virgin you get double speed on your home Internet and double data on the sim. Mine was 25gb but get 50gb due to Volt

Tbh even if it's £1 per month I would still vote ❄️. Basically bad signal any place we go. After 2 years I can honestly say the worst network I've ever been.
    kiepau's avatar
I am exactly the opposite with 02 I get signal everywhere even when my other half couldn’t get any signal with EE so they swapped so have been with them now for 3 years and very happy.

Found a little £20 TopCashback hack on this!!

    So:
    1. Go to money supermarket via TCB. The deal takes you through to O2. Add the £8pm deal to your basket.
    2. Go back to TCB and click through to O2. This goes directly to the O2 website. Purchase the SIM that's already in your basket.

You'll then have £20 in your account from O2 as opposed to Money supermarket.

    Great deal btw

    EDIT: Cashback is confirmed

Kind of annoying that they put my 12 month contract up to £9.50 due to “inflation” yet these deals keep on coming.

If u are happy with O2 - u can have this deal.
It will reset your contract for another 12months but price will come back down to £8.

I’ve just tried to swap to o2. Terrible experience. All went wrong. Hours to get through to a call centre that sounded like a party.

Cancelled through my cooling off period.

Stuck with EE for a little more but zero hassle. Sorted in minutes.

    Beware…

Does anyone else keep failing O2 credit checks? I have 2 sim-only 12 month contracts with them, and trying to add this as a 3rd, but keep getting refused - seems a bit strange. Would go for it separately in my wife's name but wanted to get the 10% multisave discount.
    porthos2020's avatar
I had the same issue before, it's a business policy thing, not you failing the credit check. I ended up waiting 3 months and then trying again and it worked.
  7. Bargainhunt's avatar
Do you get 02 priorities with this ??
    sossidge's avatar
    yep
  8. Bargainhunt's avatar
    How you get multisave ?
    gener4l_carnage's avatar
text just the word LOYALTY in caps to the number 21500, it needs to be sent from your secondary sim not the main one on the account but it wont hurt to do it from both if your unsure which is which as one will work and one will get declined.

you will then receive a text back with further insturctions which you need to respond too

The main problem with O2 isn't the tariff price, it's the inferior network compared to the other 3 networks in so many places.

Are O2 using outdated kit in their core network, they definitely don't have any proper standalone 5G anywhere in the UK?

    Looking for answers from Slough.
    bigdarlodave's avatar
I think this is the same with all UK networks, just come back from 4 days in Italy, blazing fast and usually 5G on Voda, come back to UK and get poor 4G and non existent 5G. Fells like UK networks just don't put the effort and money into the networks.

I asked this on another thread with no replies hope someone can help me, I am currently on a similar deal but with 15gb for same price, i know its easy to update however I currently have 20% off multisave discount if I upgrade will I lose the multisave discount
    Midge's avatar
If you upgrade you will need to apply again for the multisave discount.
  11. colin79666's avatar
Won’t let me upgrade without paying off my current contract so not sure this works if you are half way through a 12 month deal. Stuck at £9.38 a month until December it seems. After the huge price increase percentage in April and constant showing a full 4G signal near my work but no actual connection I think I’ll be ready to dump O2 next time round.
    gogboy's avatar
It’s strange because the messages always been that you can upgrade at any point there’s no penalty with O2 but I’ve recently seen people complain of issues like you have experienced
  12. CanyoufeeltheHEAT's avatar
Does Volt only apply if you are a Virgin customer?
    ArticIcon's avatar
Yes, however, if you live in a house that has Virgin Media you can call o2 and get them to apply Volt.
  13. ikabod32's avatar
Gutted bought last week at 20gb

You have 14 day cancellation window so you can still switch if you want to.

Their network in London past 6 months or so is absolutely shocking. Beware if you want a network that actually works
    duke's avatar
Had this weekend in the smoke and noticed this.
its ok where we are(Norfolk)but if Im overseas when it flips onto a local network it flies along.
I stick with it as its cheap and handy for trips out of the country, but somewhere like London I would hve to ditch it.

I've been with O2 for 9 months. Can I change to this deal? I have 3 different lines for the family and have multi save discount. My monthly payment was £18 for 75 GB but it's gone up to £21.10.
    mattclarkie's avatar
I've just done it on our 2 sims that only went active in February.
Will have to see if the 20% multisave applies.

    Hi, question on VOLT.
When I follow the link i can get the 30gb of data for £8 direct from the 02 website.

How do i unlock the VOLT upgrade, i am a virgin media customer?

When i go via the virgin media website the same 30gb 02 sim via volt is £15 a month not £8?

    Please advise
    tonyawesome69's avatar
Volt upgrade can only be applied once you have VM broadband and O2 Pay Monthly sim registered at the same address

anyone know we can get disney+ on this deal?
    MrCharcutier's avatar
yes, 3 months for me as an existing customer. Might be 6 months for new customers.

Same, but if you go through MoneySupermarket it works.

50319996-U5pNv.jpgThey want me to pay this amount to upgrade early
    colin79666's avatar
Probably won’t let you upgrade to a new contract that is shorter than the existing.
  20. FREEZIN_WOLF's avatar
I have an outstanding credit score and i've just been refused despite already having an existing contract with O2... bizarre!

    Seems im not alone.

In your boat too. Now it's saying my eligibility to upgrade expired. However, it says I can upgrade for a £23 fee, which is discounted as I'm less than a month from my contract ending.
  21. Roygroyg's avatar
How long did it take for your sim to arrive? Ordered on this deal first thing Friday morning and got processing email with new number but nothing since. It’s an extra sim on existing account for my son and his old sim just ran out and he’s getting a bit annoyed at my money saving switch!

Edit: Just arrived in post so a full week from ordering. (edited)

Grabbed thanks op. Had 15 gig for same amount and new 6 months of Disney. I love these deals

So this is 2.5 gb of data a month ?
    JordanB96's avatar
No, it’s 30GB per month (or 60GB if you’re also with Virgin).

The 15gb for £7 is on there also, I never use more than 11gb, might switch to the £7 one.

Can someone confirm something for me, please?

I'm currently on a 12-month sim-only plan with o2 that has Volt already applied in August 2022.

    I have some questions:
Will my existing Volt bolt-on on o2 remain?
Will I still be affected by the RPI price rise of April 2024? (edited)
    tonyawesome69's avatar
    1. Yes assuming you will still have VM broadband
    2. Yes, it clearly states this once you get directed to the O2 page
  32. des_32's avatar
Hi, I have vergin broadband if I buy this sim how do I apply for volt, and I will gate 2 seprets bill one for o2 sim and one for vergi BB or one bill for sim and BB.
    Regards
    ArticIcon's avatar
You will receive separate bills. So you will receive a bill for o2 and one for Virgin Broadband.
Volt will be applied in/within 14 days. (edited)
  33. tonyawesome69's avatar
You can only receive volt benefits if your household has Virgin Media Broadband and O2 Pay Monthly sim. The VM and O2 account has to be registered to the same address, it does not have to be the same person registered to the two accounts.

Go to My O2 to activate the benefits or speak to O2 online customer service with your VM account number to speed up the process.

  37. UnknownCube123's avatar
    Does this come with Disney+?
    gener4l_carnage's avatar
yes, check your extras tab in the 02 app and it should offer you 3 months Disney/Amazon Prime/Amazon Music etc to choose from, just done mine and showing straight away.
