The battery's are £50 each, even as low as £91 for 2 on Amazon recently. So that still leaves £50-60 for the drill.

The drill is a dcd778, which is the earlier model to the popular dcd796 which can be brought for £50-55.

So I would say it's better to buy dcd796 + batteries seperatly

    For £103, dcd796 + 5ah + charger is a great deal.

    For £160 you get dcd796, 2*5ah, charger + case

If you don't mind used you can get this deal for £110

Or go nuts and get the dcd996. You'll never need more power.

    Dcd996, 2*5ah + case + charger = £200

    Or buy three seperate items

Dcd996+case, 2*5ah = £186. Better case and still leaves £16 to buy dcb115 charger (edited)

Agreed - it's not a terrible deal, and especially not if you need it there and then, but I'd concur with the above.

There's a code on eBay special20 that brings the better version of this drill the dcd996 down to £86 with a tstack case if that is good? I just ordered it

DCD996 is a great drill but overkill for most DIYers. You certainly know when you have been using it for a while due to the weight! The DCD796 will be more than adequate for most.

Just bought the same drill & 5amp bats x2 + charger and case refurbished from screwfix for £119 delivered. Arrived yesterday …looks untouched! (edited)

Just bought this drill off my mate and have to say seems perfect for round the house and DIY jobs. Is 5AH just right for this or a touch overkill?

Overkill for a drill/driver......I prefer to keep 5a/h for grinder and circular saw.
