Can these be controlled when away from the home, or just when on the same WiFi connection ?

    Might be helpful.
If you have the £10 Amazon Photo voucher from this deal hotukdeals.com/dea…962 and buy 2 packs of the Smartplug (£30 min spend on voucher) they work out at £6.89 each. Bought.

Bought these some time ago. It was the only brand at the time that didn't have pictures of melting plugs. Really pleased with them and would recommend. Thanks OP

You can set up guest network in your router in 2.4 ghz and connect all your smart light bulbs plugs etc to that network.
All modern router support 2 separate WiFi.

I'm on the look out for offers on either energenie Mihome or Philips Hue, both with monitoring on them.

Not sure if Hue devices monitor anything.

Does it have an API to pull monitoring stats into graphana or else and also to trigger on-off from some custom scripts?

It comes with it's own app, I'm not sure how you could scrape this data.

Thank you, I'm using a wattage meter but this makes things so much easier - and Alexa control as well. I think my wattage meter cost as much as this.

Shame they don’t do a zigbee flavour of these like Samsung smartthings plugs, I think Zigbee plugs draw 0.5w, wheras wifi plugs draw 5w.

These don’t work with home assistant?

How do you compare this with TPLink

I've both brands and they both work perfectly, better than amazon smartplug. Will never buy the amazon ones again. any of tp-link and meross is fine by me.

Can anyone connect to the app? I keep getting stuck at adding the smart plug to my home network. It's not picking the network (or any networks) up and then when I manually enter it, the app stays at "Almost done" forever. The plug may be great but the app sucks.
