Probably worth looking up the data leak controversy with eufy cameras before buying

Nothing was ever substantiated from that. The hook up does a good explainer on youtube. In short, there was a pic available on a particular CDN for a few hours after because that's how CDNs work, and the vlc stream thing seemed to be a straight up lie.

Just started looking around at these type of systems. What other makes and setups are worth considering?

Well - I went down the Eufy route for one reason - No ongoing subscription to pay.

    which.co.uk/new…V2s

"Subscriptions and costs vary between the providers, including for how long you can store video clips and how many devices are covered.

The average subscription cost of storing video from a single camera or doorbell is £41.76 per year, but that increases to £88.08 if you want to store video from multiple cameras and doorbells. " (edited)

Great find, shame it's not the 2k model which would have been ideal. I find the 1080p quality is not clear enough, particularly during night time.

I had them in the basket last time... and at full price since.

Just can't bring myself to accept that anyone could hold the sync button down and wipe all video from the hub and then just own the camera.

Granted they'd be up high enough, but... eugh....

But wouldn't they need access to the hub in the house?

Just remember, battery cameras start recording a few seconds after being triggered, so you will lose a lot of footage if the subject is moving fast.

The Aosu 5MP kit, which amazes me with its image capture quality, is far superior in every way for only a few Pounds more.

Can you add sensors to that system to make it in to an alarm system?, I have added a room sensor and door contacts to my eufy base system and now have an alarm/camera system all in one

Just beware of the battery life, in high traffic areas you'll be charging them once a week!

If someone steals your cameras and syncs them with another hub. All your footage gets deleted off your hub/cloud.
    Stupid

If you put a camera in a position where someone can walk past and steal it, then that is stupid.
