I have used this. Very good machine, but you have to buy expensive beans to get the most of it.
It takes a few days to get optimum settings, and you have to learn the art of frothing. Rest is a breeze.

Completely disagree about needing expensive beans to get the most out of it.
What's more important is setting it up properly. You can enjoy very good coffee with a average priced bean

It’s a decent saving, but these machines aren’t great. If I was to get another manual setup I would go…

    Eureka Mignon Specialita : £360

Gaggia Classic (used very good) : £250

I’ve had the Eureka before and its insane how much better coffee is with a good grinder.

Same money, significantly better coffee. (edited)

Totally agree. I moved on to separates. Lelit coffee machine and Sette 270 grinder and the coffee has never tasted so good. Use Union beans as a minimum. They can be had in Sainsbury's or direct online. Also recommend Rave. (edited)

Would have loved a machine like this, but just didn't have the counter top space (width being the problem). Went for a auto bean to cup in the end, still a massive upgrade on the pod machine I was using. Any recommendation on beans to try?

I looked at this and the standard express and had I gone for one I would have chosen this to reduce mess. Seems a fantastic price for it, was seeing selling for £150 above the standard express model. (edited)
