Seems like an okay price. I'm still waiting on a C2 or G2 to be cheap again, ideally from Costco, John Lewis or Richer Sounds (in that order?). Looks like a lot of the LG OLED's are going on deals the last few days so hopefully they go on soon.

After going back and forth, I think I'm going for the Sony X95 even though its not OLED, but its got a great image quality side by side comparison. LG C2 is great if calibrated properly, which most consumers like me wont know how to do unless done by a pro, costing even more.

I’m a C1 owner and you can easily get decent picture settings from the likes of AV Forums or RTINGS.  Calibration will always have a great effect on picture but it’s not the be all and end all as everyone’s viewing preferences are different.

I have an LG OLED from 2017/18 and it has terrible burn-in, covering most of the screen - despite trying to be careful with it. Have they got better since then for this kind of thing?

Same. Didn't have warranty and LG replaced the panel for £250 - took the TV and got it back within a fortnight. Was a good experience and better than having to fork out for a new TV.

I picked up the LG 65 G2 from JL last month for £1,862 with free delivery and free installation worth £125. I read a post on here so I bought it. It is literally amazing, nothing beat the LG G2, it’s is the daddy. By the way, the G3 65 is on for pre order £3,500 at JL. Buy the G2 you won’t regret it.

    Nothing beats the G2?

Panasonic LZ1500 / LZ2000 , Sony A95K are better TVs for picture quality.

I bought the c1 55 close to a year ago for around this price, great TV,won't be upgrading until they've finished upgrading brightness ever year no point buying c2 for 20 percent brightness for much higher price, then another comes out the year after with 30 percent brightness etc,it's the only thing oled can actually improve...,.....

The c3 is said to improve brightness even more with lenses that do it without needing force more out of the OLEDs Next year they'll be something else that increases brightness too.nothing else to note of year on year, slightly upgraded processer which won't do a huge amount of difference either (edited)

It's going to be a long time before you upgrade then as more brightness is going yo be the goal for a while let. I'm real life a sunny day is over 10k nits but the c2 only reaches a peak of 800nits. So for HDR to really pop like it's real life its going to need to be able to do a peak brightness in the 10k range. Sony actually have a protype at this nit level which is supposed to be stunning but they are a long way from it being viable to mass produce. So we are going to keep seeing those 10-30% increases each year as they find small ways to increase it in a way that's both cost effective to make and which allows it to be sold at a viable price

Do these still suffer with banding on grey/dark scenes?

It's still there a bit, but I guess it's also down to panel lottery. You'll get the same issue with the Samsung panels too.
It's not something that I personally notice on test images on my one year old C1.

Just waiting for a 65 inch deal. Can get the CS for 1250 from LG directly but would like a C2 or Panasonic LZ1500 from Costco/Richer Sounds ideally for that money.

Hoping they will drop down to around that in April, I'm in the same boat, looking for a 65" C2

Anyone tried to register on the LG website to get the warranty sorted? Can get past the login screen!

Which warranty, John Lewis will give you 5 years via themselves. LG won't get involved as the manufacturer

It is cheaper elsewhere. Pends how much you value the JL warranty. Assum, ing JL survives the downturn in the economy.
Was around £774 on thebox the other day via Ebay.

I feel like JL's core customer base is probably the people who won't be in too much danger from the downturn.

John Lewis seem to be in a bit of a pickle at the moment. Not sure if they will be the next to go under, hopefully not. What if they do, hows warranty work on it?
    Jonwillis's avatar
    Jonwillis
Your warranty is with the retailer, but most actually outsource it to an insurance company like domestic and general. So depends on what exactly they are offering.

Would this be one of the best all round TVs at this budget? I'm looking at spending around this much.

Pretty much. You might be able to get the newer C2 model for a bit more, but I have a 65" C1 and it's fantastic. A lot of people don't like the LG OS, but once you've got the apps you want installed and set up hot keys for them you don't need to engage with the OS at all.

I think the only flaw is that the screen is quite reflective. It's not a deal breaker, but I'm not sure how well it would do in a bright room. I'm looking to get a new TV for my kitchen/living room which is quite bright, and don't want to buy one of these for there for that reason.
