Thank you, this is good to know
However to keep the warranty would I have to stay a member for 5 years?
    So a total of £474

Chinese VA panel (higher contrast when viewed straight on/lower viewing angles than IPS) from HKC (monitor manufacturer and also on Amazon Marketplace as their own brands, RCA and Koorui) in this LG TV.

So helpful and saved me a lot. People were saying the IPS gives great viewing angles but what you're suggesting is that this has the worst qualities of both VA and IPS! Where'd you find out the panel info? Will help with my future TV research. Cheers

How do we get £5 off?

Is this better than a Vestel made Toshiba 55UF3D? Cheers (edited)

Very similar. Most people will probably prefer the Amazon fire software on the ‘Toshiba’.

LG *may* be more reliable than Vestel in the long run.

Probably best to wait and see what happens on Prime Day.

Is it a good deal or should I wait for Amazon Prime day?

Does YouTube crash a lot on this, cos it does on my old LG tv.?

Can't speak to this TV but I have a LG OLED from 2017 and have used YouTube very frequently since then and it has been fine so it may just be your TV having some issues.

    One year warranty (cold).

As suggested above go to Costco for five year warranty.

Where does the 8000 sit in the lineup these days. Last time I bought a Samsung TV 4K the range started at 6000.

Have they sorted the issue with the LEDs failing and screens turning blue?

Because if not I think I'd go with Sony or Samsung instead. (edited)

Maybe, it’s a Chinese third party panel and not an LG one. People often run TVs at too high backlight which shortens the LED lifespan, and then probably have it above a hot fireplace which isn’t going to help.

    Same price on amazon
