Great price cheers op for this 2022 TV. It tends to be a Panasonic LED TV made in Turkey is Vestel (up to 2021) / (2022 onwards) made in Poland is TCL. Obviously you can't tell this until you open the box and view the back of the TV.
    Hope this article helps:

If you mean the MX600/650 I believe these are assembled by Vestel. Note that these don't have local dimming nor all of the HDR support that the LX800 have. Note that all of these -including the LX800 have a VA screen which means great contrast but poor viewing angles.

I've got the 43" model and that shows as "assembled in the republic of Poland" which I believe is TCL and not Vestel.

So if this is a TCL panel, is there any advantage in buying it, over a TCL branded TV?

Tcl bought Samsung's lcd panel factory in China from them. They now supply almost all of Samsung's lcd and qled panels.

There are grades of panels. But I don't know how they grade / bin them and what the difference is from top to bottom.

For £399 for the LX800 would be a better bet than the MX600/650. As it's an android TV should be updates for a few years.

Btw Panasonic no longer assemble their TVs - including OLED - at their Czech factory. It's all done by a 3rd party -- TCL in Poland for the mid to upper range and Vestel in Turkey for the lower range. The OLED panels Panasonic use are all sourced from LG. (edited)

    That's not quite correct.

Quote from this Nikkei article from 2021 - asia.nikkei.com/Bus…ing

Panasonic ended production in Japan, Vietnam and India by fiscal 2020, and is closing facilities in Brazil this year (2021) and the Czech Republic by the end of March (2021), leaving only two plants in Malaysia and Taiwan. It will continue making high-margin products, such as organic light-emitting diode models, for its home market.

    As of 2023

Panasonic does not manufacture in-house TVs. They have closed their plants in China, the Czech Republic, and India. Now Panasonic is partnered with different OEM and ODM companies to produce TVs.

For £399 for 50" this is a great deal

The only "real" Panasonic TVs are the OLED range. The LCD ones are contracted out under the company name. Still that doesn't mean that these are bad TVs.

    Such a minefield.
I see the 2023 model 50" is only +£30 on JL and has Dolby Vision, but I can't find a review.

That's what I said. For TVs in the EU and UK, it'll be either assembled by TCL in Poland or Vestel in Turkey. With OLED only panels from LG. As for LED panels, who knows. This is for EU/UK (edited)

This TV now shown as no longer available at John Lewis... They still have the 43", 65" and 75" available

Hughes still have the 50" at £399 but you'll need to register for the 5 year Panasonic warranty if you buy via them.
