Cheapest price I have seen for this.
Probably the best sub £100 audio setup for most people, the reason being is the manufacturer has complete control over the gain with the built-in pre-amp.
Condenser and Dynamic microphones for most are not acceptable due to the required audio environment needed, even dynamic microphones are relying on AI from Discord, teams etc to block out most background noise.
Great for videos, weddings and presentations. Might be hard for work meetings due to the long cable.

I have one of these in a drawer somewhere... Honestly just use the built in mic unless you are gonna stand the full cable length away

Must be something in the air tonight this will complete with professional microphones 5x the price, I would recommended watching some YouTube samples

Yes, you are missing that this deal is 15.6% cheaper than Amazon. 15.6% off is a great saving and worth posting a deal

I thought about buying a lavalier mic for video calls but have heard they're a bad fit because they're omnidirectional and condenser so highly sensitive to background noise. Does that match people's experiences? I'm currently using an AT2005USB dynamic mic on an arm but would sometimes like more position flexibility.

Lav mics need to be omnidirectional to cope with head movement (you can get directional lav mics but they're very niche). If you position them correctly and at the right distance from your mouth (which means you can keep the gain low) they actually cope pretty well with background noise - although you do have to be disciplined not to bang, brush or touch the mic or cable while recording. The BOYA BY-M1 is a budget microphone. Boya are a budget Chinese brand.

This Boya microphone is garbage in comparison to say a Rode Smartlav+.

"Probably the best sub *£12* audio setup for most people" would be a more accurate statement.

No one who works in pro audio who had £100 to spend on a lav mic would recommend a £12 Boya

They'd be looking at a Shure MVL, Rode Smartlav+, Sennheiser ME2II etc.

OP is basically telling people a Curry's Logic TV is better than a flagship Sony OLED TV. (edited)

Hey man, thanks for the time and effort in giving your opinion! Remember that the Smartlav, MVL and ME2II would all need a power source on top of the price, and once this is factored in I do believe the difference would be minimal. Nothing like the difference between a Logic TV and Sony TV I have compared it with a Rode and H2n and I could barely tell the difference.

    I wouldn't bother with this.
