There's a size guide on Vitus' site: vitusbikes.com/pro…022

You're almost certainly a Large. Vitus suggest that this size is suitable for a height range of 5' 9" - 6' 0" and an inside leg range of 32" - 34". If ever you're between sizes (XL is for 6'0"-6'3"), almost always it's best to go down, but of course your mileage may vary.

You can always make a bike bigger, but you can never make one smaller.

For those doing some research on frame weight this is double butted, basically means it has more metal ar the welds and less towards the middle. Triple butted frames have even lighter tubing overall but not to the point where it matters at this price. This is a great deal with a very upgradable frame as it is thru axle and flat mount disc brakes. One could easily find a decent hydrp groupset for under 300 quid on fleabay and upgrade and have a very capable winter/commuter/doitall for not much money. Heated.

All this bike needs to be a very capable winter/commuter/doitall is a set of mudguards.

And the frame and forks appear to have mudguard mounting holes.

Microshift though...I prefer the Sora model.

I can vouch for the quality of Microshift gears. I have the Triban GRVL120 which runs Microshift 1x10 gears and its not failed me yet. This is a great deal.

Was pretty much ready to pull the trigger then saw this...wiggle.co.uk/vit…371

Been so out of touch with bikes after having 2 of mine stolen about 5 years ago, So want to know if it's worth the extra for Sora?

I've not got much experience with Microshift, but personally, I'd pay an extra £100 for Sora.

To be honest, none of these rear mechs are really proper gravel bike mechs anyway. They are all cheaper road bike components stuck on a gravel-bike styled frame with drop bars. You really want something like Shimano GRX if you want a proper gravel bike mech. It's the cycling equivalent of buying one of those SUV styled cars which is nothing more than a standard chasis with a SUV styled body stuck on it.

Gravel bike styling is a similar fad. If you really are buying for some off-road use, there is definitely better value to be had by purchasing something more like the traditional MTB with with flat bars and if you are buying for road use, it's more cost effective to buy a road bike.

Anybody know what the voucher works against? Tried a different bike and had no joy.

That is a flipping bargain! Cheap way to upgrade the brakes would be to fit the Giant Conduct system, which has about six inches of cable and it's then into Hydraulic Hoses. Very effective. You can find them on eBay for about £80-£90. (edited)

I've never heard anyone say anything positive about the connect system. Do you have it? Interested to hear any feedback, I avoided buying a bike as it had it on.

Tempting.. after another bike for rides with the kids on rougher terrain. Was thinking of the Trek Dual Sport 2 to go more MTB/hybrid but this would be better for bad weather commuting to avoid getting my Canyon Endurace dirty!

Rubbish gear ratios. Way too high geared for this type of bike.

Yeah it's an odd choice to stick a 28 tooth cassette in a gravel bike. Needs a 32 or 34 at least!

looks a bit ugly. cabling at the front and the seat post looks a bit square.
handlebar stem is a bit longer than what you would get on a mountain bike. I bought a specilized hybrid and had to get a longer stem to give the extra room on the bike.

Most good second hand go for around this price, so it's a very decent package, gears can be got on with, get some fancy mudguards and go annoy some fisherman

Agree, this is a great price. I was looking at a secondhand Substance 2 (albeit the Sora drivetrain version) last year that was more expensive than this.

In the end, I decided I wanted a true gravel drivetrain so opted for a bike with Shimano GRX...Microshift and the Shimano Sora equivalent are just road geartrains stuck on a bike with gravel styling.

Feels like the ridiculous prices due to COVID demand have ceased, the demand has dropped and prices are coming back down. Nobody wants a £1000 bike when they can't afford to heat their homes or drive their car. (edited)

cool bike and very good price but 34/28 is basically unacceptable gearing for an off-road bike. Its not even acceptable for a road bike unless you liek grinding up hills destroying your knees in the process.
