The Mythique 27 VR Mountain Bike sets the bar for the perfect trail bike - a powerful, capable and versatile machine. A superb full-suspension bike for all riding styles and all levels of riding ability, it features a durable, stylish and completely updated frame crafted from lightweight 6061 aluminium that has modern geometry and balanced suspension.

Bike delivers that same feeling of ease, building your confidence with its proven capability and control so every trail feels like a new favourite. The Mythique cares not for your riding style or where you ride - it simply brings the fun. The downside? How long you’ll be waiting for your mates to catch up.

The Mythique isn’t necessarily about the bravado of getting as rowdy and hectic as possible, although point it at something more aggressive and it will gladly comply. This is a trail bike that’s agile and playful without getting out of hand. Rein it in with ease or cut loose and unleash your full trail-riding potential. This is consistent performance along the whole track from a bike that calmly stitches together the technical sections with balance and poise. The suspension design is a long-proven platform that better prevents pedal bounce when you’re climbing whilst also maintaining predictability under braking. Furnished with proven Shimano Deore components that include a 10-speed drivetrain, this bike is ready to ride, straight out of the box.

Not to be underestimated, the Mythique has the personality of a workhorse - trustworthy and controlled - with a trail-taming capability that rolls well above its price point. It’s a bike that inspires confidence without defining your style - the flair comes from you, the bike just helps you ride that perfect line.

Shimano 1x10-Speed Drivetrain and X-Fusion Suspension
The Mythique 27 VR is ready to hit your trail of choice. It comes with 130mm rear wheel travel, matched with X-Fusion suspension forks to keep you planted when the trails get rough. Shimano’s 1x10 wide range Deore drivetrain provides reliable shifting for all-day epics while the Shimano MT401 brakes provide ample stopping power

Maxxis Tubeless Ready Tyres and WTB ST TLR Wheels
Rolling on WTB ST i30 wheels wrapped in Maxxis High Roller II Tubeless Ready tyre combo and it features a Brand-X Ascend dropper seatpost. This bike gives you the confidence to take your trail riding to the next level.

Please Note: Due to volatility in the bicycle supply chain Vitus may slightly alter the specification of the component parts supplied with this bicycle. Where this happens, Vitus has listed the alternate product in the specification table and has ensured that this is of either equivalent or superior specification to the stock component.

I would say the returns get less the more you spend, for me around £750-1k is best value. If something is £2-3k it will be slightly better but not much.

Never heard of Vitus, are they any good? Wanted to get a full sus for a while and this seems very tempting... Also X-Fusion Suspension... haven't heard of them either, any good?

Really good brand, not a well known as the larger manufacturers so in turn you get a lot for your money. Plenty of reviews online about them. Well worth the money

The VRS is better but to me the extra £370 wouldn't be a significantly better bike.

Depends if you want RS suspension which is the main difference.

I would go with this one personally but that's personal preference. I would rather spend £1k for a banger than £1,370 for a slightly better one. Being boring but also 10 speed cheaper to replace parts in my experience, cassettes etc. Which is a consideration.

If I was a roadie however I would want as many gears as possible riding with a pack of other MAMIL roadies. But this doesn't apply for MTBs.
