Don't do it, bought one few years ago. It's a pain in the pitter to use... Sat at the back of cupboard

Always wanted one of these over 40 years ago as a child. Never got one though x

I wanted one when I was young, until I had a go on my cousin's one day. A long, long time spent turning the handle resulted in practically no ice in the drawer. And if I remember rightly it made an awful noise whilst grinding the ice. Maybe they've improved the design since then, I think it was about 1985 or thereabouts.

Never had one as child. Got one for our little one at Xmas and it's exactly as you describe. You can get ice out the draw but there's a good chance you snap the handle in doing so. Rubbish.

I'm sure I can remember it featuring on that consumer programme with Esther Rantzen in the 70s. Was it called 'That's Life'?

My kids have had two of these. Both a pain to use and both broke within a week.
One capitulated using the pressure of crushing a single ice cube….

….just buy some strong plastic bags and use a rolling pin. (edited)

You can buy an electric ice shaver on Amazon or eBay for not much more than this if not around this price. I’d go for that if you actually want shaved ice. These are hard to use and don’t work. Not really suitable for kids. Nice idea though.
