As a cop in the Manchester that has to try and stop vehicle theft, amongst other things, from my experience Ford Ecosports are easy pickings, Land Rovers Discoverys/ Range Rovers are high on the list and Mercedes are also up there. Relay device thefts are the main threat as the software is evolving at an increased rate.

I used to advise placing your keys in a faraday bag but even then it's not guaranteed. Nothing beats a good old fashioned steering lock to stop these little cretins usually stealing to order.

There are cheaper options and there will always be that gang that will have the organisation and wherewithal to be determined but a visual deterrent is usually enough to get them looking elsewhere.

And if you think a tracker is enough, it's not. They are usually cut out before you realise your Range Rover has vanished.

We do a lot of work around vehicle crime in Manchester and the figures are falling but the steering lock gives you piece of mind that your car is more likely than not where you left it.
